Corrie's 50th will be: "Corrie like you've never seen it before."

There's an excellent interview with Coronation Street producer Phil Collinson over at Digital Spy. You can read the interview here and there's some summer spoilers and gossip here.

Interestingly he says that for Coronation Street's 50th anniversay, there's going to be a huge storyline that'll "be Corrie like you've never seen it before."

Hmmm.. if it's Corrie like we've never seen it before, then it's not Corrie, surely? I hope he doesn't mean it'll be like EastEnders, or he just might have us Corrie fans switching off.

He mentioned Rita when discussing Molvin. Does that mean she finds out? Cos that'll be good. She's like a mother to Sally, so probs she'll give Kevin and Molly a telling off - classic Rita!

They say that about every major storyline. Mind you, that other story about Vera is probably just made up. He also said there are no returnees and that would include Liz Dawn.

Shame that he wants Molvin to continue! Really looking forward to the Nick/Leanne/Natasha storyline...not so sure about Carla and Michelle running the factory. I can't see how Michelle would end up there, and I'm not a fan of either characters.

Not impressed with Phil so far I have to say. The Molvin story should have been put to bed figuratively speaking ages ago and Michelle in the factory? Is she still doing her job in the pub a la Sean? I dont like Michelle either but obviously he does!!
