Andrea wants Steve
What's On TV has a few quotes from Hayley Tamaddon on her character, Andrea's hopes and desires. She thinks Andrea does fancy Steve even though she's currently dating Lloyd, surmising that perhaps she's only doing that to make Steve jealous.
There have been little looks, nothing really obvious but I've caught one or two wistful glances in Steve's direction and I've had the feeling that Steve is who she would prefer. Hayley says Andrea is "out to bag her Mr. Right".
There's definitely a connection between she and Steve and quite a lot of our blog readers have felt that Michelle has been treating Steve badly and seems to be dragging Steve down. She's also been openly hostile to Andrea but Hayley says “I think Andrea will be able to hold her own and personally I'm hoping for some real stand-offs between Andrea and Michelle." Me, too!
I'm one of those that thinks Steve and Michelle are horribly unsuited. The last time they broke up, Steve found Becky a lot more fun (and hard work in the end). I think Steve will find Andrea a lot more fun, too and Michelle might want to watch her Ps and Qs this time around.
Things are going to heat up when Lloyd and Andrea start dating and Steve finds he's jealous. It looks as if Andrea is playing it smart, keeping Steve at the friendship arms' length, not being too clingy or stalkery so far. I would rather her not get like that, in fact, and rather than do her best to break up Steve and Michelle, just wait for Steve to come to it himself, realizing that Michelle isn't The One but Andrea just might be. That's how I'd like to see it play out if indeed, that's where it's going. How about you?

I would like to see Steve and Andrea get together as long as it doesn't wreck Steve and Lloyd's friendship. And if the two of them get together maybe, just maybe there won't be the usual storyline of cheating etc. So tired of that.
I've never been much of a fan of Steve and Michelle but I think the recent harridan we've seen in her was to set up the way for this current storyline. She didn't used to be quite so unkind. Andrea maybe bubbly and easy-going but if she plans to nab Steve, is she any better than Todd or Gloria? Just because we don't see Andrea twirling her moustache doesn't mean she isn't manipulative and devious. I would far rather she and Steve had attempted to fight their feelings but then gave in to the inevitable. And wouldn't it be nice for once to have an honourable bloke on the Street who says: 'We should have met sooner but I'm taken'. Maybe this is the wake-up call for Michelle and she repairs her relationship with Steve.
Wow, Humpty Dumpty, you are an admirable person! My instant gut reaction is that I'd like Steve and Andrea as a couple, and that Michelle is a misery-guts who I've never liked and wish she would just disappear. But, I must say I do like your option and agree it would be a good storyline for the show to consider. It would take, however, a very long time for me to open up to a changed Michelle.
Lord knows why Andrea likes Steve, all that silly gurning and whining. I'd much rather see her with Lloyd. So far as "staying loyal" goes - is Michelle even remotely like she was when she and Steve got together? People fall out of love and into love with someone else; happens all the time in everyday life. Rather than having an affair though, I'd rather see him realize how his feelings have changed, break up with Michelle, and then move on with his life. It's the affair business I don't understand, not the change in partners, especially one so on-again, off-again as this one - with clear differences in their ideas about their future together (she doesn't want kids, he does; she thinks he's useless, he just likes her boobs and how she looks in a short skirt).
As long as it doesn't ruin Steve's relationship with Lloyd I would like to see Steve and Andrea together and perhaps someone else could be just around the corner for Lloyd. In the past didn't Rob mention that he carried a torch for Michelle when they were younger..maybe those two could get together and punt Tracy to the curb (kerb)!
Seriously Steve needs to slap Michelle, that would shut her up. He has to stop acting like such a spineless idiot. Smack her in the face and kick Michelle out of the Rovers. No doubt she will go crawling back to Carla for a job at the factory. Or better yet axe the factory, sick of her miserable snarling mug.
I wonder if the actress who plays Michelle, is being herself?
I too hope Andrea doesn't get too clingy. I do think she should lay all her cards on the table and see if Steve will deal though, so to speak.
Andrea is just such a good fit for Steve. She's easy-going, she goes with the flow, she's fun and bubbly, but she's also got a bit of a brain. I don't think I've ever wanted Steve to get with someone as much as I want him to get together with Andrea.
Just watching tonight, there was absolutely no reason for Michelle to kick off like that. When two of my best friends got together, I felt a little left out, and it WAS a little awkward. It's not pathetic at all. It's a natural thing that shows how close Steve/Lloyd are.
And I hope they find a way to do this without breaking up the Steve/Lloyd bromance. There's bound to be some drama if Andrea gets together with Steve but I don't think the friendship should go completely. Maybe have Lloyd meet someone else. A new character perhaps because I can't see him with anyone else.
The weird part is I can't stand Michelle, but I absolutely HATE Andrea. She's awful.
Andrea and Steve obviously hit it off. Lloyd is on the look out for Ms Right...when is he not.
Has there ever been a time that Michelle has not treated Steve like an overgrown child...it is like she is patterning all men after her dad.
I hope the writers do not make it icky with Andrea and Lloyd. Steve already landed himself in hot water when he slept with Kelly Crabtree (whom Lloyd was dating but on a break from). I do not want to see the guys fall out over a woman.
I really would like to see Steve with Andrea. The scenes with Andrea vs Michelle would be hilarious.
Also think about it...this would leave door open for Rob to consider making a play for Michelle.....Then we could see Tracy vs Michelle. LOL I am no fan of Michelle...I would love to see her go head to head with Emily Bishop too if I could find a reasonable plot to make this happen! ;-)
I feel sorry for Lloyd, he just being used a pawn in Andrea's game. Someone is going to get hurt and the repercussions are to be seen.
The thing with Andrea is that Steve doesn't gurn or act all spineless with her, he acts like his fun self, the same as with Eileen and Lloyd. I think that's why I like her. If she's playing a game, I wish she had chosen someone besides Lloyd. He deserves better.
Hm it didnt take Andrea long to drop her knickers did it, its obvious she has the hots for Steve but shagging his best mate doesnet seem to way to win a bloke over. But Frosty suspects she is not all she seems and will be yet another bunny boiler. Has Liz gone to "Spain" again?

Has Liz gone to "Spain" again?
One can only hope, I for one haven't missed her.
It didn't take Lloyd long to drop his knickers, either, if it matters.
Steve and Cheryl got together for a one-nighter after Lloyd dumped her. When Lloyd found out he went ballistic, dumped both Cheryl and Steve and left the street, so this will lead to Lloyd leaving so the actor can do another acting gig for a few months.
Anon 23:49, Steve and Cheryl never got together, that was her husband Chris who claimed he had cancer you are talking about.
I think it was Steve and Kelly Crabtree who had the one-nighter.
I hope tptb don't turn Andrea into a bunny boiler. Or that they have Steve and Andrea cheat to get together. I do think Andrea and Steve are suited and never liked Steve and Michelle together
I don't like Andrea, she is just too much in your face. Everything is funny to her and she is trying too hard. Very annoying!
