Just when you thought he couldn't get any worse!
Jiggle Geoff's extra-marital jiggling (sorry) has finally caught up with him. Blaming Yasmeen for the STI is probably as low as you can go, but being Geoff, I doubt it. Yasmeen's clap diagnosis also seems to have awoken her (finally!) to the harsh reality of her insidious husband and claustrophobic marriage. Whilst he's at the shop sourcing sauce, Yasmeen hides a bag ready for a quick exit. Being the paranoid narcissistic weirdo that he is, Geoff sees the deception on his secret security system, so of course, can use it to his advantage and heads back home. The magician that he is, I think he has a few ‘tricks’ still up to his sleeve when it comes to bullying his wife?
Returning from the grief retreat, Daniel looks refreshed, revitalised, and suitably shorn! Do you remember the days when we could get our haircut? The wife has cut mine this week, it looks fabulous - honest! Anyway, I digress. Has Daniel recovered sufficiently or is it just a front? It wasn't that long ago he was downing the booze and drowning in sorrow, hard thing to shake is grief. What do we think?
Dev bows to pressure deciding to try persuading the school to stand down the viral video scandal. It's a joy to watch Dev and Asha’s Father/Daughter relationship yet I think she may still need that motherly maternal figure - Mary perhaps? And what do we think of Kelly then? It's pretty obvious that she’s going to be hanging around the street for a bit, and of course, being Rick’s daughter, she’s a suitable ruse for maybe bringing down murderer/gangster Gary Windass?
Maria’s sudden curiosity is quite surprising considering her usual dimness but Gary's obfustication works rather well. Kelly seems to have found a companion in good girl Summer, and fearing homelessness for her newly found foe, Billy offers Kelly a roof over her head. How big is that flat? Funny how Geoff mentioned the tardis, plenty of Coronation Street houses seem smaller on the outside! Talking of which, Ken tells Tracy he isn't going to sell N0.1 after all. So I wonder where everyone will live now?
Back home, Geoff makes it clear to Yasmeen that he knows what she was planning to do and decides to set her baggage on fire! It surprised me actually as I thought Geoff was going to lock Yasmeen back up in his magic box? Sally sees the embers of fire burn and spies Yasmeen looking sullen. Can Sally save her mother-in-law from domestic violence?

Maybe i'm nitpicking but considering how long Daniel has been gone, surely the writers could have slipped in a reference to Covid 19 by having Daniel in self isolation with no haircut?
Yasmeen and Geoff live in the house where Faye lived with Anna and Owen. Several times, Tim and Sally would hear arguments next door and Tim wanted to go round to see if Faye was alright. How is it that Tim and Sally haven't heard Geoff raise his voice, and he doesn't only whisper menacingly, and wondered what was going on? Surely Sally would have heard Yasmeen weeping before now.
The actor playing Geoff seems to be enjoying this role a bit too much at times. It's such a horrible story that a bit less of the good acting wouldn't go amiss.
And in keeping with my bad mood today, I thought the background music gets too loud too often these days on Corrie. There. Other than that I agree that Dev and Asha's scenes should win a few awards.
Sam,Since the writers insist on issue storylines such as Geoff's abuse of Yasmeen why shouldn't Covid 19 be referenced on the Street as well?Other wise it becomes 'the elephant'in the episode 'so do speak.
I think it's contridactory for the writers to insist on issue storylines but ignore a world wide pandemic that would involved everyone in the Street as opposed to the favored few featured now.
There was one episode very early on when Faye told Tim she couldn't do her homework because of the yelling next door. Tim said he didn't want to get involved so they can indeed hear. I completely agree, you'd think they would have heard
Yasmeen calling for help in that box. So frustrating
The trouble withCorrie is that they insist on showing issue led storylines and they tell us how meticulously researched the issues are, yet a lot of the storylines and situations are totally unrealistic, for example, the number of unnatural deaths, the number of residents that have been to prison, the number of grown adults that share houses and flats, the way money just seems come and go. Sometimes having it both ways just doesn’t work.
@CK that was becasue turned the music up to drown out her cries.
Covid didn't exist when these scenes were filmed.
