Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 22nd April 7.30 pm

Has it been a week already since Aadi's personality/head transplant? You'd be forgiven for thinking it had been longer, the way this new actor has cemented himself on the cobbles. I think he will fit in well? Undoubtedly his soap sister Asha has put in some stellar performances recently, but what’s next in this viral video scandal?  Corey has convinced Asha that he didn't click ‘send’ on the WhatsApp group but will he escape unscathed?. We, viewers, know it was Kelly of course and Amy soon finds out. To quote Harry Hill ... fight!! That's the second one in as many episodes! I love this new side of Amy as well. She gets more like her mother every day, and you know me - I'm a huge fan of our Tracy so it bodes well! Glad to see gangster Gary back. Kelly is going to be a bit of a hindrance for him, isn't she?

With the video going viral it was obvious that the other kids on the street would soon get wind of it and Simon Barlow is well in the mix. Is Max a bit too young for that kind of content, or am I getting old? Anyway, It's a good way to get Dev to find out as David spills the beans.

Wedding fever has hit Sally and Tim, and they ask Abi and Kev to be their respective best man/woman at their forthcoming second nuptials. It's even more pleasing that in real life, Joe Duttine (who plays Tim) has just got engaged to Sally Carmen (who plays Abi), congrats guys! I like that sort of thing, I call it ‘soap serendipity’. In the programme, however, Tim is strapped for cash so Geoff offers to cough up more of Yasmeen's dosh. It also means he has to ask his dad to be his best man, but what about Kev? I wonder if it's the financial that's going to bring Geoff down or a culmination of his various nefarious goings-on?

Also at The Rovers, Johnny squirms in Scott's presence having finally been introduced by Jenny, it appears these two have a previous history, any guesses as to what that could be?
Fleeing to France to see Eva is always a good idea ( I miss that lass!), but he will have to come back eventually? I'd love to see a spin-off where Johnny, Jenny, and Eva are in a Corona lockdown in Paris! And what is Scott's intention with Liz? Is this Liz’s exit story?

Fresh from an election victory, Ken’s reluctance to take up the Stillwater podium has (metaphorically) rippled the waters of his relationship with Claudia somewhat. Admitting to her that he’s getting homesick and prompted by Dierdre's peanut bowl debacle, Ken admits that it's over and he wants to get back to Weatherfield alone.

Is this the end of the fabulous Claudia Colby on the cobbles? I can't see Ken being a fan of Tracy’s huge canvas prints, so where does this leave things at N0.1 Coronation Street?

Finding out about the video, Dev is truly mortified and is in massive shock, upon finding out about Asha's video. Heavy words are lightly thrown, but, as a Father of a daughter myself, I can certainly understand it.

The biggest shock of tonight though is revealed by Ken, as he arrives back at N0.1 and announces he’s left Claudia and moving back in. I can't see Tracy liking this!

What did you think of tonight’s Corrie? let me know.
I am @rybazoxo your {self-styled} ‘cobbles connoisseur’

Claudia sure made Ken throw out a ton of stuff during the pitch and purge before he left. His bag with his worldly goods was tiny!

I don't often say this about Dev but his scene with Asha at the end was very moving. Jimmi didn't go over the top and the script was sensitive, bringing up Sunita's likely feelings about the situation. Asha made an error of judgement which was entirely believable for a young teenager. She feels unattractive and wants to get a boy's attention. She makes another error of judgement about who her mates are. It made sense to me as an adult viewer and, as a poster has said here recently, a warning for all parents to be aware of social media and their youngsters. Btw, Max is only a school year younger and is probably year 9 so he's not too young to be interested. David, too, was doing it just right. The two fathers together worked very well.

Can't believe Ken will stay in his old house. Still think there's a chance Norris will move back to share a place with him.
