I'm loving the return of Nigel Havers as Lewis Archer in Coronation Street.
Time then, to take a quick look back at the major points of the Corrie conman and charming cad's back story.
Lewis joined Corrie in 2009 when Audrey Roberts met him at the Weatherfield Council Christmas lunch where he was escorting Claudia Colby (picture above). Audrey fell for Lewis despite her shock at finding out he was a paid escort.
When Audrey and Lewis started dating, she decided to invest £100,000 to pursue Lewis's dream with him to run a hotel in Greece and they planned to leave for a new life.
At the same time, Lewis began flirting with Deirdre Barlow at the bookies, and while her back was turned, he stamped the betting slips and later filled in the names of the winning horses to make it look like he had won. He managed to con £4,000 from the bookies and left for Greece on his own.
In February 2012, Lewis returned to England. He bumped into Audrey and Gail who were there after they got lost while out power walking. Lewis pretended to be his "twin" brother Hugh. He later returned to Weatherfield and repaid Peter Barlow the £4,000 he owed him from the bookies
He then went to see Audrey, and asked her to escort him to the police station to hand himself in. He was let out on bail and turned up in the Rovers where Deirdre punched him in the face!
Lewis claiming he was a changed man. He made up with Audrey but fell foul of Gail and Gloria Price's plot to bring him down. Gail and Gloria thought Lewis was after Audrey's cash again and Gloria got close to Lewis by faking breast cancer. A betrayed Lewis ended their relationship, and after Gloria left the area he began plotting his revenge on Gail.
Gullible Gail was convinced Lewis loved her and they began a relationship which they kept secret from Audrey. Lewis stole £40,000 from Gail and fled the country again, but not before leaving a confession tape in which he admitted to stringing Gail along.
And now he's back again, this time teaming up with clairvoyant Rosemary Piper in order to target Gail and extort more money from her.
As we also know, Rula Lenska, who played Claudia Colby, is returning to the show. Will she also be teaming up with Lewis or is she coming back to warn Gail and Audrey about the Corrie cad? It all remains to be seen!
