Coronation Street episode review, Weds 13 June, 7.30pm

Hello, with our blogger Ryan Oxley in Weatherfield on a special mission for us, you have me, Glenn Meads, for the entire double bill, so here goes with the 7.30pm episode review.

It's the day of Aidan's funeral and because of the way be died, everyone is feeling a sense of guilt or what might have been. A great montage shows us different characters affected by this huge loss, including Johnny, Kate, Carla and Eva.

Seb's mum seems to get to work early. Is she keen? Nope, the poor woman is sleeping in a car. Meanwhile the baby drama is coming to a head for Eva and Toyah. The lies cannot continue now the father of little Susie is being buried.

Like many, I love Jenny. And watching Johnny flip flopping from love/hate is agonising. He decides she can go to the funeral. Nicola gets ready to leave and Eileen seems to be going too.

Kim has stopped over at Fiz's place. Does Sean take a fancy to him? Either way he is skint, so does not replicate any of the signals coming from Kim.

Eva is like a kettle about to boil and insists that she wants to go the funeral. Toyah insists on accompanying her in the name of sisterhood. But it is micromanaging on a grand level.

The Connors are all dressed like Carla, black is the order of the day. Michelle has gone for shades and celeb style styling. And Queen of the factory Carla is gunning for Alya.

Liz is in the cafe with Moira and she makes the mistake of telling her about the kiss. With family only invited, the mourners are looking sparse. The poor man deserved to have friends here. As he looks alone. Suicide is so awful for those left behind and the funeral highlights this.

Eileen is off and visits Streetcars under the guise of sorting her desk out. Johnny, meanwhile gets choked during the eulogy and he talks about Aidan and Kate. It is really emotive as it is so well written, you buy into the recollections of the past, before we viewers met him. The performances here are really raw and the writing is superb. Today's eyes start darting back and forth as Eva looks on the verge of telling all, at the funeral. She gets up and leaves, with the veggie running after her.

Fiz and Tyrone are still squabbling and Sean is after more shifts. He is clearly skint and wants to work more. Has his job fallen through? Good storyline this one, as sofa surfing is homeless, in all but name.

Eileen says goodbye to friends and Moira gives her an unwelcome hug. Outside the funeral, Eva breaks down and realises she has denied Aidan a role in life. She blames herself for what he did. The performance here is quite something, particularly in the fave of Toyah, trying desperately to keep the baby.

Peter is at home, holding the baby with sulky Simon. They find a photo of Suzy in Eva's handbag. The secret will be out in no time.

Normally I blubb away as soon as I see someone crying on the telly but for some reason the whole funeral had no effect on me. Was it the Connor mafia women being so hard faced towards Alya beforehand, Johnny being so horrible to Jenny? I don't know.

Why is everyone always going into someone's purse and "finding" something? I thought a woman's purse was sacrosanct.
