John Stape is set to commit suicide, says a Coronation Street spoiler in today's Daily Star.
The paper says that it all becomes too much for John and the pressure increases when a disaster at Underworld sparks fresh building work. Fearing Colin’s body will be exposed, John decides to end his nightmare once and for all.
It's the only way I feel. All killers need their Corrie comeuppance!

Another cheerful storyline!
However, they said the same about Natasha and it was a red herring.
Part of me thinks aye, if they aren't going to have him found out and imprisoned for his crimes, this probably would be a fairly inevitable route for the character to go down, given how badly he has been struggling to cope with what he's done. But damn, it sounds depressing!
This kind of media story is always sensationalist and not always accurate - I suppose we'll just have to wait and see!
I love John, one of my favourite characters along with Graeme. I hope this rumour isnt true, I hope he just goes to prison (Even though it would be for years) or just let him get away with it all for many more years. People do infact do all of the stuff he has done and still get away with it (All be it not many) but it is possible.
Lets not get rid of another good character please.
Mike
I would much rather him have a heart attack from the stress. After all he has gone through so far, i don't think sending him to jail would be in the character's best interests though he deserves it. I don't like to see suicides on soaps, and most of them don't like to show it.
Sharon Marshall said "There's some rumours about John going around today that arent quite true"
yeah, that's kind of what i figured. Similar to the Natasha "suicide" storyline. She tried it but they found her in time. It may be that John thinks about it but doesn't go through it with , maybe for Fiz and the baby's sake. He should just turn himself in, really, but we'll probably see more preposterous lies etc.
i actually like john ive never felt such compassion for a killer before maybebecause he plays it so well-i hope its not suicide as another poster said sharon marshall said corrie rumours arent all true
i do hope he sort of redeems himself maybe working for a charity or something good he does rather than get rid of him
What!!That's the best they can come up with? What about Fiz and her finally seeing that her hubby is a murderer so she can confront him once and for all? OMG what a trash ending to a lllooonnnnggg and boring storyline. In with a fizzle..out with a fizzle?
I really hope the rumour's true- if so then good riddance. Whilst at first his insane antics were unpredictable, they quickly became boring and I won't miss John as a character.
wonder what the disaster at the factory could be? if it's even true.
Oh no. Don't like this idea at all - was just perking up a bit re. Corrie now that Stape's back. Hope it's a fake spoiler.
I don't like suicide storylines but if it means John goes, then good. The Stape saga is just silly and has gone on way too long.
As a suicide survivor, I hope they don't go down this route.
Rebecca, I agree with you. I lost my brother at aged 25 to suicide so I certainly don't want to see it on tv.
Hugs to you Rebecca stay strong!
Nope..here's what I'd like to see. John, realizing his number's up when they find Colin's body..goes mad and figures topping himself is the only way out, but he won't leave Fiz behind so in true Corrie fashion, he decides she's going with him to the great 'wherever'. Kirk saves the day and John is killed in the scuffle. Fiz and Kirk finally back together with baby Hope..better than suicide anyway.
The John Stape story has been hilarious black comedy. Here's hoping this isn;t true and that John gets away with it.
