Manchester City Council are putting up a commemorative plaque at the house once owned by Doris Speed, who played Annie Walker in Coronation Street.
The plaque will be on 13 Sibson Road in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, where the Coronation Street actress lived with her mother during her time on the soap.
Ms Speed played Rovers Return landlady Annie Walker from 1960 to 1983. She was appointed an OBE in 1977 for her services to television.
