Beverley Callard's daughter joins cast

Not long after Liz McDonald’s departure from the cobbles, it has been announced that Beverley Callard’s daughter Rebecca is joining the Corrie cast for a guest stint.

Following the story earlier today regarding Fiz’s prison storyline, in which she is said to help bust a drugs ring in her jail, ITV have released some details about one of Fiz’s inmates, Ruth – played by Rebecca Callard. Ruth is said to be one of the characters at the centre of the drug smuggling in the prison.

Rebecca, who will initially feature in six episodes, said: "I've been going to the set for over 20 years now (with Beverley) so to turn up as an actress was a bit different. Daunting, as the show is amazing, but also really lovely, as I know some of the people in it, and exciting. It feels like the right role at the right time."

Beverley's daughter, Brooke's cousin, Phil Collinson's mates, is there no end to the nepotism on the Street?

You forgot William Roache's sons - oh, hang on. They're actually quite good...unlike PC's "mates".

PCs mates? Names, please.

Seems PC has no mates, after all.

PC's mates are Anthony Cotton whose acting seems to have gone from bad to worse lately but still gets prime time. And of course unless you are living on Mars, Michelle Collins in her incarnation as Stella.

Rebecca Callard has been around longer than her Mother and is a top actress. I've watched her in stuff for years. My fave was the Grand.
