Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 13th July
Ghastly Geoff is at it again, manipulating our lovely Yasmeen. We pick up where we left off, although this time with a split screen. He says he will drop the charges if she agrees to get back with him, although she can't tell anyone about it. Yas, you'd be better off with Big Bertha from B Block! Geoff is frustrated that she is wiseing up to his appalling behaviour ("I felt bullied and terrified in my own home") and Yasmeen slams the phone down. Waste of phone credit if you ask me. There's worse news for Geoff as Sal says she will be a character witness for the defence. Tim is, to say the least, unimpressed.
Alya soon works out that it's Geoff who has her phone (although if she's that bright, she wouldn't leave her phone on the counter in the first place?). He returns with the mobile and they spat across the restaurant. However, he turns up at the cop shop and says he wants to drop the charges, but Detective Inspector Ginger Bob says it's up the CPS, not Geoff. He can't control everything!
In the socially distanced Victoria Court, Leanne says that she realises that they need to appreciate the time they have with Oliver. She's still not over her denial though, saying that medical breakthroughs happen all the time. I'm 90% sure that this storyline has been written because Jane Danson can cry on demand. Either that, or the wages bill for the child actors is too large.
Imran spills the beans to Nick about the fostering plan and he suggests that Toyah speak to Leanne. She does so and Leanne gives her blessing to her sis.
Michael complain to his best pal (?) Kev about Grace's knock-back. The woman in question meets with Aggi in the cafe where she persuades Grace to give her son a chance. To be honest, apart from the fact that Grace is quite boring, the Baileys need to bed in, so to speak, with the current characters otherwise they're going to end up like the Nazirs (depleted) or the Mortons (dead or gone). Michael and Alina would make a nice couple, no? It would at least save her from human man-bun, Seb. Or maybe if Helen Flanagan ever returns, Rosie and Michael would be fun together (after she first tries to get off with James because she wants to date a footballer). Aggi was involved in the street in her role at Roy's Rolls, but she gave that up for the glamorous world of nursing. Well, maybe she could be the nurse at the surgery, interacting with Liz, Moira and Dr G on a semi-daily basis. She could have Toyah's old office. And now that we know Todd's returning, with a different head, there's a love interest for James. It's either him or Sean, and nobody wants that. Anyway, Aggi takes Grace back to number 3 and she and Michael agree to try to make a go of it. Meh.
Kevin breaks the news to Abi that the twins (You know the twins? They're always talking about them) are off to hang with Fiona Middleton in Australia. In the olden days, characters would go off to Liverpool, never to be seen again. Now we live in a globalised world, people move to the other side of it.
Gary tells Sarah, who appears to be the the Operations Manager now, that he's putting the rent up at the factory. Didn't he do that in January? Talking of Gangsta Gary, Laura tells Adam that Rick sends her money through his "minions". I think Adam's gonna twig soon, isn't he?

How did I miss the upcoming return of Todd, though sad they have found it necessary to change his head. But it’s mobile phones I can’t understand. Never mind forever leaving them lying about, how come no one has any security codes, never mind fingerprint recognition. Meanwhile our fun is spotting the before/after Corona filming.
I couldn’t believe that the police detective would be so one sided when talking to Geoff, it seemed she saw Geoff as totally innocent of anything.
Well its the soap police innit?! Always get it wrong.
