Where are Weatherfield's Golden Girls?
Has anyone else noticed the strange disappearance of two of our Corrie faves? Whatever happened to Liz McDonald and Deirdre Barlow? Liz managed to be part of the Owen/Jim storyline without actually appearing in a single scene. Possibly the last sighting of Deirdre was during Ken's meeting with his long lost family. There are probably good, valid and maybe even personal reasons why Anne Kirkbride and Beverley Callard (who recently got married) are away. Here's hoping for a return soon!

Well, Deirdre appears tomorrow night. Weird she wasn't at Jack's funeral though, nor Liz.
I was thinking the same about Liz the other night and then it dawned on me that the lovely Bev Callard is on her honeymoon.
What year is that photo from?
I'd say circa 1990?
Not really a fan of Deirdre, so it has been heaven not seeing her on the screen :)
There's always one or two people missing from a funeral that never should be gone and it always sticks out. I agree, Bev Callard probably on honeymoon.
Liz and Deirdre are two of my all-time favourites, I love their scenes together just chatting either at the Rovers or round at teh Barlows' and will so miss them when Liz leaves :((
Why dont they write the stories around character's absences? All these referalls to Liz beind elsewhere and the Own/Jim story without her is ridiculous.
I totally love Coronation Street but Deirdre with her raspy voice, bad teeth and wrinkles is a good reason for women to either stop smoking or never smoke.
