Michael has made James sarnies (?) in a Gladiators lunch box (??) in order to bribe his little bro to stay out all day so he can talk his mum into letting Grace move in. To be honest, even if you got on with your in-laws, living with them in an over-crowded house doesn't seem that great an idea. Aggie is concerned that Michael making posh lamb and buying presents means that he's about to propose again. All because he doesn't want to get a TransPennine Express! Grace drops by and Aggi calls her an evil manipulative cow and she runs off, closely followed by Michael who bumps into a racist policeman who says someone "meeting his description" was involved in a robbery. They eventually let him go and Aggi agrees to let Grace move in.
I realise Aggi is being entirely unreasonable not letting her 28 (?) year old son run his own love life but I'm not sure someone who doesn't own the house can bully his mum into letting his baby-mama move in. Now that Rotten Ray's on the way out, surely one of the many flats-above-shops is available for rent?
Talking of Ray and his evil empire, Debbie claims she didn't know anything about the bribery or the various sexual assaults. She also claims she doesn't know where Ray is. We know the latter is a lie, especially when Abi goes to the Bistro and finds what D.S. Willetts would call evidence of a struggle. She also remembers that Debbie was there on the night she was drugged. Debbie gives her a sob story about how she had to take on the "woman's work" after her mum died (I can see that to be honest - neither Kev nor Bill has ever shown any evidence of being a new man) and how this led to her failing her exams, but she is now very proud of what she has become and is happy to see the street bulldozed, Ray or no Ray. Debbie asserts that she tried to escape the Bisto on the night in question, but Ray kidnapped her and put her in the boot of his car. When Ray came to open the boot, she hit him around the head with a car-jack before rolling him into the river. I suppose the lack of outside broadcasting means that we don't know whether any of this actually happened. Sally brings the good news from the council - the storyline is over! The planning committee has revoked the towerblock planning application.
Except Ray is not at all dead - he's in Debbie's hotel room (not one of Ray's hotels by the looks of it) waiting whilst she rustles up a false passport for him to escape to Turkey. Her reward for helping him flee is to take control of all of his businesses.
Ken intends to go on a pub crawl to distribute a pic of Peter asking them not to serve him. You're in luck Ken, all the pubs are shut. Talking of Peter, I'm reading Rupert Everett's autobiography at the moment and at one point Rupey works with Joseph McKenna, who was one of the younger Peter Barlows, one of the ones that actually had a Scottish accent. Rupes accompanied him to the set where the two were larking about and were apparently screamed at by a long-standing, flame-haired member of the cast who called them "little shits", although Pat Phoenix tried to cheer everyone up afterwards. Anyway, Adam suggests that he and Tracy-luv take it in turns to look after Peter. Adam's first mission doesn't go so well as Peter returns to number 1 having had more than a few wee drams.
And finally, in a new storyline, Gail finds a picture of a Fanny. And that's the only joke I'm going to make about that.

What the hell has happened to Gail. She shuffles about shoulders bent, talks in in a whimpery voice, talks to herself and grins likes an idiot.
Is she showing signs of senility for a future story line or are we supposed to find her amusing?
