Apologies for my long absence and thanks to Ms Kelstar for her epic reporting. Tonight I am going to start by reporting the first appearance of the Weatherfield Precinct on which my blog colleagues have been reporting.
No doubt we will see more of it than in the background of this discussion between Summer and Ava, whom it turns out has not merely had an affair with Mike {as discovered earlier by Todd}, but also has a son, Callum (who has Mike's eyes), although Esther knows of the affair she does not know about the baby. Summer feels that this is one lie too many and pops round to the Hargreaves' residence to have it out with him.
To the surprise of absolutely only one person - Jacob - we find that his father, Damon Hay, really is a nasty piece of work as he beats his son up in the ginnel for losing £50k with a small packet of drugs (a kg of the stuff is around £30k and the pack looked smaller than a kilo to me). Damon tells Jacob to leave town as the fall guy for the lost drugs. Jacob also reckons that his life will be safer if he disappears and tells Nick about the content of the balsamic vinegar boxes arriving at the Bistro before heading back to the flat where Amy catches Jacob on the phone negotiating a supply of drugs. Jacob packs and departs in the back of a taxi leaving a heartbroken Amy sobbing. Personally, I never took to Jacob but a lot of people enjoyed his portrayal.
Elsewhere on the Street Daisy has a mega-hangover from last night - not only does her head hurt but one look at her "socials" reveals the somewhat compromising photo of her closeness to the DJ who offers her an alternative future when he sends flowers - unwisely she hides the card in her jeans pocket and gives the flowers to Daniel as an apology for their argument. Daniel sees both the photo then notes its subsequent deletion - despite being busy on his first day at work, teaching at the prison. However Daniel has been busy during the day - he has booked a wedding at Charlesworth Hall for a date in May and Daisy is ecstatic.
Damon later leans on Nick claiming he sacrificed his own son. He makes it clear to Nick that he now expects the drugs to move through the Bistro with no questions asked. Nick is unable to tell Leanne so is between Damon and a hard place.

Max is caught skiving from school by Gail because everyone knows what happened. Gail tells him that he knows Griff was wrong and now Max has to work hard for people to know that he was deceived and has learnt from his mistake. Maria is canvassing for support for a proper location and funding to support refugees to counter Griff's activities - a place in the Precinct is magically available and Steve promises the support of StreetCars. Sarah tries to help Max but he does not want to know. Gary however remains concerned for Maria's safety.

Izzy briefly rematerialised in Roy's Rolls, collecting a lemon drizzle (almost as good as Jill's) cake for Jake's teacher at Bessie Street.
Mike cannot accept that Esther should be told and lures innocent Summer to the nursery which has an external lock on the door (what sort of demon child is he expecting?) trapping Summer inside - without her mobile phone and her insulin pump running out of insulin. Mike drives away from the house.
Jacob has departed and Izzy is back. Nick is in it up to his neck and it is not quicksand this time whilst Amy may have had a lucky escape. Meanwhile Daisy has an unwanted admirer - was it really the DJ who sent those flowers, or not?
