Preview of tonight's Coronation Street - Wednesday 22 June 2022

Wednesday 22nd June 2022

AUDREY TAKES A TUMBLE Rita finds Audrey in the Rovers, enjoying her first drink of the day.  Pointing out that she owns the barbers, Rita suggests it’s time Audrey went back to work. David despairs as Audrey announces she’s returning to work, before cracking open the wine and flirting with Ryan who’s in for a cut. David asserts it’s time Audrey went home, but as she heads for her coat, she trips over the Thai elephant, sending her sprawling across the floor. Arriving to find a tipsy Audrey playing table football with Ryan, Maria insists she go home but Audrey refuses. At her wit’s end Gail tries to talk some sense into Audrey, but when she raises the subject of her drinking, Audrey hits the roof and announces she’s moving back home with immediate effect. Meanwhile at the barbers, Audrey staggers into the motorbike which falls and knocks her over as Audrey cries out for help.

TIM STRUGGLES TO TAKE ADVICE. Trina conducts the first sex therapy session and urges Sally and Tim to gaze into each other’s eyes. Tim feels awkward and declares it a total con and a waste of time. Sally’s disappointed by his attitude.

MAX DISCOVERS THE IDENTITY OF HIS BLACKMAILERS David reaches a decision and tells Max that they won’t be paying the blackmailer and he’s to go to school and front it out. At the bus stop, Chris and Blake take the mickey out of Max, quoting his messages to Sonya.  ELSEWHERE A despondent Maria tells Gary that the recycling collectors are going on strike because of the extra bins she set up and it’s all her fault. After a meeting with Adam, Peter angrily tells Carla that there isn’t enough evidence to bring Mr Thorne to justice. Carla reckons he should let it lie

I'm a Canadian viewer and can't believe this Tim and Sally storyline is still dragging on. Personally I am not remotely interested.

I agree with anonymous. Also the Summer storyline and the Max storyline. We already did the nude pic story with Asha. Do we need to rehash it again?

I agree anonymous...terrible waste of talent....the rest is just a waste. Tired of all of the teen angst, at least when Tracey was young she would just go upstairs and listen to her tapes..heehee

I guess Audrey's problem with drinking was the only way they could reintroduce Stephen. It was either that or another viaduct collapse. Question is who will be the object of his affections. He would be in his mid-sixties so Daisy - even in Corrie - is not in the running. Could be Jenny?

I've heard it's Elaine, Humpty dumpty.
I think the Audrey plot is fab, showing how older people get into the habit of social drinking and how it escalates.
The tussle over the wine bottle with Gail, hammering on the door of the pub before it opens, ignoring Rita's question about how many G&T's she's had, being defensive and suddenly turning nasty towards family is all pretty believable behaviour of someone addicted to drink.
Whether it's simply a plot to bring Stephen back into it or not, it's brilliant acting by Sue Nichols and compelling viewing. I applaud Corrie for this.

It's already been announced that its Elaine. This didn't have to be the reason for his return, could've been just visiting relatives after Covid. There doesn't need to be an agenda

I agree with Sharon, I'm very much enjoying the Audrey storyline. Anything that results in Aud and Rita getting drunk in the Rovers is worth watching in my view!
