LIAM’S SEARCH HISTORY PANICS MARIA Maria confronts Mason and Dylan and tells them that because of their vile bullying, Liam will have to change schools. Mason’s amused whilst Dylan feels bad. Liam calls at the salon and tells Maria she’s a good Mum and he loves her. As Liam heads out, he looks at her, aware it could be for the last time. At the school, a teacher shows Mrs Crawshaw the search history on Liam’s returned laptop. As Maria fails to notice a missed call from the school, Gary is called in. Racing to the salon he breaks the news to Maria that Liam’s been researching ways to kill himself. Remembering Liam’s earlier words, a horrified Maria rushes back to the flat in a desperate bid to find Liam.
LAUREN FALLS BACK ON AN OLD MONEY SPINNER Lauren reads a final demand from her energy company before making a call and spelling out to the person on the other end that she doesn’t need their money and wants nothing more to do with them. Bobby’s delighted when Lauren accepts his offer of a date. But when Max and Sabrina call at Lauren’s flat to find her sexily dressed, Lauren reluctantly reveals that she makes videos for O-Vidz.
TOMMY PLAYS GAMES WITH TRACY Tracy seductively invites Tommy to join her in the back of the shop, will he be able to resist?
ELSEWHERE David urges Nick to voice his reservations about their relationship to Leanne. Dee-Dee confides in Alya how she hasn’t heard a word from Joel since they declared their feelings for each other. Joel calls at the solicitors with flowers and after explaining he’s been busy at work, offers to cook her a romantic dinner. Gav hands out flyers for his window cleaning services. Steve and Tim agree to give him a try.

Tracy is really annoying me now. She has no reason to carry on with Tommy. She claimed to have been in love with Steve since they were teenagers and recently he has been attentive and thoughtful. Even the "cherry stone pillow" birthday present was meant to help with her neck / shoulder pain. The writers clearly want to split up one of Corrie's best comedy couples.
Sorry the character who played Rick Neelan is the brother of the guy who plays Tommy Orpington. I said that it was Marc Baylis..my apologies.
I thought the scenes with Liam, Maria and Gary were very moving. Brilliant work from all 3 actors.
The Corrie team must be mindful that lots of teens are going through the same thing - too frightened to switch off SM contact and close their accounts.
Mrs Crawshaw was very insensitive, going on about protocols.
The welfare of the pupils ought be more important than that. If it isn't, then she isn't fit to be a headteacher.
I'm very surprised that the school didn't refer Liam to a counsellor.
If the school doesn't have one, an urgent referral to a local charity that counsels young people.
I don't know why this wasn't done. Why couldn't Maria ask Toyah to counsel Liam privately?
In my opinion, Tracy is probably bored and is just using Tommy for a bit of fun. Sad really, as Tracy and Steve are so believable as a couple. Perhaps the writers could explore the couple detailing with this in a mature manner?
What would have been helpful for an issue-based storyline is a stage where Maria and Gary made a formal complaint through the school's complaints procedure. The information about the process is on every council's website. Not as dramatic perhaps as what the writers have in mind but very useful for viewers in the same position.
Heartbreaking scenes with Liam, Maria and Gary. You are right Sharon. Although it's impossible to expel pupils without going through a lengthy process (for pupils' protection), Ms Crawshaw should at least suspend them pending investigation, taking in account Liam's suicidal thoughts. Toyah as counsellor seems an obvious solution ( why on earth doesn't she get a proper job instead of waiting tables?) but maybe family members aren't allowed? Of course it's Mason who needs a psychiatrist. He's a psychopath and makes no attempt to hide it.
@Sharon...the lad who plays Liam has done a spectacular job, it was very well done. I've dealt with bullying at my son's school and their take was pretty much the same. Isolate the kid being bullied to 'protect' him and let the bullies get off with a warning and no consequences.
I'm still not understanding why Toyah doesn't go back to counselling rather than working at the bistro.
Tracy and Tommy... alittle excitement after a long boring winter. Steve and Tracy hit a rough patch a while back and people do all sorts to get through it. Tracy isn't known for being a faithful partner, although she's tried to change her spots in the past few years...she's still the same old leopard.
