Starboisky writes: Manchester library has a copy of Tony's memoir 'I Was Ena Sharples' Father' in the reference section and in it he devotes a whole chapter to his adventures in Austria, detailing that he stayed with Frieda and Willi Gaberschick and their son Fritz in Judenburg.
Frieda was the sister of Ernst Walder (Tahedl) who played Ivan Cheveski, Elsie Tanner's son-in-law in Coronation Street, who Tony lived with on South Molton Street in London .

And after making contact with a neighbour in Austria I've found out that Ernst passed away in September last year. I've sent you the German version I received and the English translation I did through Google Translate, below:

I thought it may be a nice tribute for you to mention it on your blog as it is believed that Ersnt and Tony were boyfriends, and it is Pride Month.

Interesting points to add about Ersnt is that his character Ivan was one of Coronation Street's original twenty-one characters in 1960, with Ersnt recalling that Tony based Ivan on the fact that there were a lot of Polish people still living in Manchester who had fled to England during the Second World War.
