Temperatures will rise in Weatherfield this summer as Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis and Archers’ Ryan Early join the cast of Coronation Street for a steamy affair storyline which will rock the cobbles.
Stephanie, best known for playing Sinead O’Connor in the Channel 4 soap, has been cast as Courtney Vance the glamorous wife of Darren, one of Dev Alahan’s business associates. Darren is played by Ryan Early.
Whilst Dev and Darren Vance spend time talking business, Courtney sets her sights on a toyboy lover in the shape of Dev’s son Aadi Alahan.
It’s not long before Aadi finds himself caught up in a web of deceit as cunning Courtney orchestrates reasons for the pair to meet up behind Dev and Darren’s backs.
Stephanie and Ryan start filming this week and will appear on screen in July.
On getting the role Stephanie said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the cast of Coronation Street, playing the part of Courtney Vance. Growing up I have always watched and loved the show, so to be part of the biggest TV soap in Britain, which is in the hearts and homes of so many people, is an honour.”
Ryan said: “I am so thrilled to be playing Darren Vance on Coronation Street and joining the most iconic Soap. I grew up watching the show with my grandmother so to walk on the cobbles is such an honour.”
Coronation Street Producer Iain MacLeod said: “In Stephanie and Ryan, we have cast two fantastic actors as the catalyst for this fun, fiery storyline. Aadi will quickly find himself way out of his depth as he risks everything for Courtney. And while it is the best time he’s ever had in his life, he stands to end up in a whole heap of trouble!”

Okay, so most of the recent storylines have made me groan. But this one made me laugh out loud.
Sounds interesting! I wonder what's happened to Simon Barlow? Like the street's dogs, we haven't seen him for ages.
It's great to see that Debbie Webster is still around but is Roy about to be killed off?
It's nice to see Joseph's aunt and Izzy's mum back (Sorry I've forgotten name).
It makes me smile when Bernie is snobby towards her but is more than happy to take her offers of money for the wedding.
I think the aunt and dev would make a classy couple!
