Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 15th May

Aaron has a type, not in looks but in voice - Mia sounds exactly like Summer. I had to check it wasn't Harriet Bibby in a wig. I never thought I'd say this, but I'd have liked to see more of Summer in this Amy-Aaron storyline. It is obviously Amy's story but we haven't seen that much of Summer reacting to the fact that the man who was her first love and with whom she lost her virginity is the type to have sex with a girl whilst she's passed out. Given that Summer likes to berate herself, it's surprising she hasn't been trying to blame herself for Amy's ordeal.

Anyway, Amy tries to warn Mia, Mia's having none of it and reports her to the police. DS Blonde Ponytail comes round to say an allegation of harassment has been made and Amy must stay away from Mia and Aaron. On the other hand, it seems as if Abi is coming round the fact that her lodger is a bad 'un and she talks to Amy about how things happened to her when she was younger that she wouldn't put up with now and we see what I have referenced before - that the younger generation are (quite rightly) not prepared to put up with this kind of thing, they are not going to write it off as a mistake or bad sex.

Although I thought Gen Z were internet natives and thus should know all about the legalities of putting something on Facebook Friend Connect. Amy uploads a post about her traumatic experience - at least change his name to Andy to something!

Linda returns to the Brown/Winter household ahead of Gemma and Chesney's wedding in Coronation Street

Bernie is worried about her aura, thinking it's changed from cerise-aqua-marine to muddy brown. The reason for this can only be Linda who has swished into town with worries about Gemma's beige buffet from Rutland's in the precinct. Linda's ideas of a wedding breakfast are more about prawns and avocado. Maybe some bowl food? Gemma's attached to the idea of a giant sausage lattice though, so Rutland's is back on, Linda footing the bill. God knows what Linda'll think of Gemma's wedding outfit, although given that she says her outfit is "two seasons old" when it looks to be from 2010, maybe her opinions should be left un-opined. Gemma says she can stay for her tea - fish fingers - but Linda prefers seabass in the Bistro with Izzy.

Pushing Faye closer into the arms of Jackson is (obviously) Craig who says he has been offered a secondment to CID. I know the police'll take anyone nowadays, but really? I suppose since DS MacKinnon quit, there's only DS Blonde Ponytail and Sergeant Jess around to get things wrong.

Ryan is back at Kate Oates Memorial, following his recent infection. Daisy tries to visit and apologise, but he tells her that he doesn't want to be a burden and he'd rather hang out with his imaginary friend Crystal. Daisy still can't admit what she's been up to.

Another person who thinks he's a burden is Max, who refuses David's help when he comes to visit the STU. It's Daniel to  the rescue again as he gets David to record a message on his phone and he passes it onto Max. In it, David tells Max he has "zero attention span", which seems a bit rude given Max's ADHD.

We saw Abbi a while back beginning to suspect Aaron when he bought Amy a laptop and she's self-aware enough to realise that Aaron was filling a son-gap. When you compare Amy with other young characters in Corrie, you can see, no matter how good the script is, the actor has to carry it off. Elle Mulvaney absolutely shines in this storyline.

Yes, she's brilliant.
I like the Daisy/Ryan/Crystal plot and I wonder where it's going to go.
Aaron's girlfriend Amy does look (and sound like Summer a lot). I wonder if she is Harriet Bibby's sister or cousin.
I'm so disappointed that we have to return to Max and Daniel's teaching at the young offender's place.
Couldn't Max and Daniel quietly get on with things off screen?
I'd rather see Evelyn ticking off time wasting browsers at the charity shop, secretly snaffling the best garments for herself, whilst supping tea and scoffing biscuits!
It'd be far more entertaining.
It's great to see Linda back and I can't wait for the wedding.
I hope the couple will have someone conduct their ceremony in BSL, too.

I like the lad that has befriended Max, he is a breath of fresh air.

I agree. I hope he stays. Sharon, if Daniel and Max quietly got on with things off screen, and the storyline progressed, I'm sure you'd be posting asking what you'd missed as the progression wasn't shown
