Ahead of her appearance on popular TV show The Yorkshire Auction House, former Corrie star Amanda Barrie has spoken to the Coronation Street Blog about having a spring clean and putting some treasured items up for auction.
“I’m approaching 90 and having a bit of a tidy up” the Alma Sedgewick actress told the Blog.
“When I asked my family if they wanted any of my old Corrie memorabilia before I ‘go’, they told me I AM their old Corrie memorabilia! We decided to put everything up for auction so someone else can enjoy it”.
Amanda added: “As far as I know it might be the only cobble people can get their hands on – I never saw anyone pulling up other cobbles in my twenty years at Corrie anyway!”.
Amanda played Alma in Corrie from 1981 to 2001 and is still a fan favourite after all these years. As well as the cobble, other treasures Amanda is parting with include a large number of Polaroids of cast and crew from Corrie’s makeup department from her time on the show.
A big fan of antiques, Amanda can often be found rummaging around antique shops all over London, so you might find some of her other non-Corrie-related treasures in the auction too!
