Ryan moans about being predictable when Nina guesses his order of a bacon barm and milky tea and he swiftly changes it to mushrooms on toast and a mango smoothie. I've literally never seen a mango in Roy's. Or a flat white. Anyway, today will be unpredictable for Ryan as Alya, still suffering PTSD after the stabbing starts telling Adam and Deedee what kind of cases they should be taking as she verbally assaults and then semi-kidnaps a stabbing perp who then removes his business from Barlow and Bailey. I know she has been the victim of a terrible violent crime but is Alya trying to become Exalted Queen of the Universe in the absence of Michelle Connor? Zeedan, clearly having had enough of this drama is off again, back to That London with Marrium. Not sure what the point of him returning to the Street was just to have him leave again? Anyhoo, Alya drowns her sorrows in Ryan's gob as they pash on Yasmeen's sofa (she even pretends to be interested in his DJ-ing "career" in order to get her tongue down his throat).
Someone else not dealing with the situation very well is David who, learning that Max has been attacked at the borstal STC, turns to day drinking and attempting to get off with his co-worker (above). Could've been worse: they could've photocopied their bottoms at the joint Audrey's Salon/Trim Up North Xmas party. Like father, like son, complains Gary, conveniently forgetting his time in a) youth offenders and b) prison. He finds out about the attempted snog/lunge and tells Shona, who I presume has turned up for a 'keeping in touch day'. She put the leave into maternity leave by telling David she does know how to quit him and takes off for pastures new, probably to come back in 9-12 months. David, remembering a plot point, asks Daniel to keep an eye on Max at the STC, telling Danny it's ironic that he's the only one who can help him. Not sure if it is irony, but I imagine that Alanis Morissette might be interested. At least David has the house to himself now, apart from Gail (and her manhole).
Paul becoming human collateral in Stephen's plan doesn't seem to bother Mr Reid as he once again spikes Carla with the Bad Drugs. He is a man on a mission and that is to win Best Villain at the Inside Soap Awards. Stevie-boy has definitely gone too far this time: you can tip Leo into a bin and you can murder Teddy with a hole punch, Stephen, but You Cannot Mess With The Queen Of the Street. Your downfall cometh, Canuck! I presume that even Peter might notice that Stephen is always around when Carla has a turn?
In more romance news, Paul tells Billy that he was the one who smacked Mike the creepy Christian. Billy should be thanking him, to be honest. But in true Billy style, he forgives Paul instead and they too have a squelchy al fresco snog. What happens in the confessional of Maxine's bench stays in the confessional of Maxine's bench.
In less romantic news, Justin the Scottish stalker has now got Daisy's phone number (from a label on a package he was delivering) and he leaves her a message on her voicemail. Given that there are any number of gangsters lurking about the street at any given time, can't Double D pay one of them to give Justin a little slap? Jenny Bradley agrees with me!

I'm 100% with your last comment. Surely someone can put the frighteners on creepy Justin?
To be honest, I think Paul should be proud of himself considering he had the courage to deal with Mike's machinations in the way he did and when I think about it, Summer's situation reminds Paul of the time Kel sexually abused him when he was a kid.
To be honest, I think Paul should be proud of himself considering he had the courage to deal with Mike's machinations in the way he did and when I think about it, Summer's situation reminds Paul of the time Kel sexually abused him when he was a kid and Mike had the audacity to file an assault charge against Paul considering he took advantage of an 18 year old girl? Outrageous!!
