Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 12th of Dec 8.30pm

As promised, here is the part two review of this Wednesday's Coronation Street.

Cathy's tripping up of Kirk didn't quite scupper the great Coronation Street robbery. Grappling her to the floor, Chesney helps Kirk escape Cathy's clutches, with the cash collected.
Back at the flat, Beth explains the Germany cancer clinic but Sinead dismisses the idea, as she now wants to continue chemo in the UK.

Brian struggles to convey his feelings to the Headmistress, whilst Phil manages to wriggle his way out of the bullying claims with his usual charm.
Later on at The Rovers, Phil corners Brian in the gents and threatens him once more.

Robert returns to the Bistro and Michelle is quick to collar him over his absence. Robert manages to fool Michelle with more lies. Seeking advice from Toyah, it looks like Michelle may get some counselling to finally overcome her baby's sudden death. Could the couple finally try for a family after all?.

Dev is less than distraught at losing 3 grand and glad that Chesney didn't get hurt. However, overhearing the drama at the shop, Sinead realises that Kirk has a balaclava (and her auntie Beth didn't sell any long lost war medals), so it doesn't take long for her work out where the cash came from. Kirk readily admits that he was, in fact, Chesney's mugger.

It also looks like Nick could have done with robbing Dev too. Sinking Elsa's money into the factory means he has to pay her back and quickly!.

Liz and Mike rekindle their relationship yet she struggles to explain away her feelings for Johnny.
As Liz looks forward to the girls holiday (sorry Moira!) Jenny can't wait to get her out of The Rovers and out of her husband's way.

At the shop, Dev is delighted to have his money returned as Sinead lies about finding it. Checking out his security footage, however, Dev quickly realises that the little tinker isn't telling the truth!.

Anyway, that's me for another week.

Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 12th of Dec 7.30pm

Welcome to Wednesday's edition of the Coronation Street Blog and the first of tonight's two episode reviews.

Chesney, Beth, and Kirk are something of the three amigos (or the stooges). On a mission to raise money for Sinead's cancer treatment in Germany, Beth delivers a devilish and quite criminal plan. Knowing full well that a gullible Kirk will gladly go along with the robbery, she just needs to convince Chesney to actually steal some cash.

Sinead meanwhile, reels from the shock of Steff's sudden death. Emotionally distraught, Sinead pours her heart out to Chesney, and it takes little convincing for her former fella to decide to rob Dev of 3 grand in shop takings.

Robert fools Michelle by saying he's attending a foodie training course (whilst secretly meeting Kate), and Michelle fails to mention her new fringe-double duplicity!. At the bistro, Ryan breaks the oven (yep, that's a Ryan thing to do!) which leads to Michelle tripping the electric and causing the place to black-out!.

The darkness does little to dampen the lunchtime foursome of Nick, Leanne, Imran, and Toyah. I'd have stuck to yarn bombing, personally.  Ignoring Michelle's frantic calls, Robert waits for Kate at the Fertility clinic.

Round at Roy's, Eileen apologies for lobbing lemons at Liz, and Phil delves into Brian's background. Cathy, discovering Brian's pill popping, marches him to the doctors. With a diagnosis of heart palpitations and workplace bullying to deal with, Brian visits the headteacher and finally admits the truth.

Raising the alarm for Robert, Michelle realises that he's been lying about his whereabouts.
Confiding in Carla, Michelle shares her doubts about conceiving yet does little to dismay the fact that she may want a baby after all.

Back on the street, Chesney collects Dev's takings and Beth's plan is put into action. When Chesney is robbed of the shop dosh, the masked mugger (aka Kirk) is caught by Cathy.

I enjoyed that!.Keep your eyes peeled for my 8.30pm review, coming to the blog later on!

Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 5th of Dec 8.30pm

As promised, here is the part two review of this Wednesday's Coronation Street.

At the Battersby love nest, the salacious sisters argue whilst Nick and Imran fail to cool the air.

At the factory, Nick is also on the minds of Carla and Elsa as they try and uncover his blatant extra marital affair. With Sarah leading Carla astray, the ladies end up at the Bistro where Nick is smug to see him entertaining a Leanne lookalike. Elsa swears revenge on Nick and Carla.  Whilst Imran smooths it over with a lovelorn Leanne, Carla realises that Sarah has given her a red herring, so she fires Nick's sister, whilst drinking Whisky (as you do).

Daniel and Sinead share the baby scan picture in the street. Deceptive as ever, Sinead decides to pay Ken a secret visit. Ken easily admits to giving Carla money for the couple, yet Sinead admits that another secret is still being kept from her 'Husband'.

Back at The Bistro, the McDonalds await the arrival of Adi and Dev. As Dev strolls in without his son, Amy realises she's been set-up and protests her dislike of Adi. Quickly realising they've got the wrong end of the stick, (and with Amy's continued insolence) ,Tracy and Steve decide that the contract will be torn up, and dumped in the red rec.

Finally, Fiz and Hope prepare to leave for Birmingham as Ty struggles to envisage his family being torn apart. Warming to Evelyn, Fiz decides that the 'cantankerous old bag' can keep Tyrone company whilst she's away. As the gang gather outside No.9, its an emotional departure on the cobbled winter street. Its left to Evelyn to disperse some more caustic words of  wisdom, as an upset Tyrone watches the taxi go.

I can't wait to see more of Evelyn on the street. What're your thoughts?.

Anyway, that's me for another week. I hope you've enjoyed this Wednesday's episode?.

Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 3rd of Oct 8.30pm

As promised, here is the second episode review of this Wednesday's Coronation Street.

Tonight on the street, it's the maternal and paternal ties that bring drama to the cobbles.

Sinead learns more of her potential cervical cancer diagnosis, which could cause trouble to her and Daniel's unborn baby. Will Sinead unleash this sad news to her family?.

Reeling from the drugs death and Sophie's change of heart, Michelle has trouble keeping son Ryan from running away, until the police find Cormac's drugs on him, and cart him off to the cop shop.

Then there's Steve and Jim. After an impassioned heart to heart, a drunken Steve asks Jim to be his best man at the wedding. Will Jim's realigned relationship with his son, cause repercussions for his and Hannah's plan?.

Devastated by the letter from his estranged mother, Sinead avoids telling Daniel about her diagnosis. However, she sugar-coats the subject, when on her own with her Aunty Beth.

In other news- Gemma's thinking of copper highlights, Brian consoles Jack, and David enjoys sending Bethany on errands.

As I am now writing both Wednesday nights episodes, I shall score this week 6/10. The dark drama, wonderful writing, and Kirk's Big Cat adventures.

What would you score it?

Anyway, that's me for another week. Join me next time, for more Wednesday Weatherfield Wisdom!.

I hope you've enjoyed my mid-week paean to the drama of Coronation Street.
