Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 30th December

Happy Christmas! Oh, no, we've done all that haven't we? Happy whatever this bit of time is called before we're all going on diets and pretending we're going jogging every day in January

Jacob Roberts as Kit Green in Coronation Street

David tries to run down Kit and then gobs off at him, then Daisy tells him to do one. Not a good start to the week for Mr Green. If I were Shona, I'd remind David of the time he slept with Emma and she forgave him and she hadn't even gaslit him about something Max did. No dice with David though as he returns home to kick Shona out. Did he buy the house from Gail in the end? Sarah lets drop that Kit is a bent copper, and spills about Kit planting Lauren's hair in Nathan's van.

I'm loving the idea of David vs Kit, they're both sneaky and vengeful and it will make a good feud. Nathan wins round one as he smashes his own police car and then arrests David for it. But if Shona is kicked out and Max is pre-occupied with Lauren (see below) and Lily is at football practice, who will walk David the dog? Sarah rocks up and Kit lets David go and lies about the car being hit with a shopping trolley, but he later approaches the lurking Radcliffe bros and tells them that their muzzles are off when it comes to Platt Jnr.

To be honest, I think a week without Shona and looking after Lily solo, David'll be begging her to come back, especially if he doesn't even know the log-in for his daughter's school account.

Max phones Lauren on her personal prison phone and tells her that he's spoken to Deedee and it's looking positive, which is not what Deedee said. Deedee visits Lauren inside and tells her the bad news about the prosecution team.

Will Toyah Battersby and Nick Tilsley's kiss lead to full affair in Coronation Street? | Radio Times

Leanne stayed over at no. 1, although on the sofa rather than in Steve's bed. Amy is rude to her, seemingly forgetting that she believed Toyah was the bad guy last week and was mean to her as well. Later, Toyah's counselling brain kicks in and she tells Nick they should drop the case, but Swain goes ahead anyway and charges Leanne, who blames this on Nick.

Corrie's Cassie Plummer is ...

Finally, Cassie puts her plan into action and gives Ken a sob-story about having spent too much at Crimbo and she can't afford the repayments on her credit card. He offers her an advance on her wages, which isn't really what she wants, she wants free cash! Or maybe this is softening up Ken; with Tracy in Spain, Steve talking about moving out, she's only got to get rid of Amy to get Ken (and the house) to herself.

Oh, and Lisa and Betsy and Lisa's case files about Becky's death move into Carla's.

By the way, the person who puts the preview pics up on the ITV site seems to have started their Xmas break back in November, so if these pics aren't from today's ep, that is why.

Monday 30 December 2024

As a row breaks out between Kit and David, Bernie intervenes, reminding Kit that David was a good mate to Paul. When David returns home to be confronted by Max and Lily demanding answers, Shona explains how David prevented her from seeing her son. David approaches Kit, hoping to dupe him into confessing to his crimes regarding Nathan Curtis, but Kit sees through him and decides to take the law into his own hands.

As Leanne heads back to her flat, Nick and Toyah watch from across the street. After finding out from Dee-Dee that Leanne could face a custodial sentence, Toyah asks Nick to drop the charges. What will Nick do?

Lauren calls Max from prison and admits she’s scared about her trial but as Max does his best to sound positive, he fails to tell her that she’ll be up against the toughest of barristers.

Steve tells Ken that he plans to look for his own place to live. When Ken notices Cassie seems out of sorts, she bursts into tears making out she’s run up a huge debt buying presents for the family. How will Ken react?

When a stressed out Lisa reveals that they had a burst pipe and the flat is flooded, Carla invites her and Betsy to stay for new year. As Lisa and Betsy move into her flat, Carla spots some files relating to Becky’s death amongst Lisa’s things leaving Carla feeling awkward.
