Torchwood's Burn Gorman in Corrie
Here's a still from a 1998 episode of Coronation Street showing some geezer chatting to Zoe Tattersall on a bench.
The actor is future Torchwood star, (the fantastically-named) Burn Gorman, but who can name the character he is playing and what is the storyline? Ready when you are... [Sky Clearbrook]

Hi, this is Miss Tami from Burn Gorman Online. Is there anyway we could use that pic at the site. And do you know where we could get ahold of video of that episode? You can email me at webmistress@burngormanonline.com or Melissa at admin@burngormanonline.com
Hi, Miss Tami.
Yes, I'm happy that you use the pic, but only on the proviso that you provide a link to this blog.
That must have been Ben from the Cult of Nirab storyline was it?
Thanks, Sky, we will most certainly provide a link. If you have any more stills or info on the eps he was in, and have the time to send them, we'd be most interested in them.
TvorGot it in one!
The vulnerable Zoe was taken in by the Cult of Nirab (another one of those poor soap/cult storylines from the '90s like the one in Brookside featuring that freaky Simon bloke).
Nirab is, of course, an anagram of Brian. For an extra bonus point, who can name the (in)famous Brian the cult was named after?
Miss TamiSome kind soul has uploaded an episode to Dailymotion. Watch part one here. It looks like parts two and three of the same episode are there too.
I agree with Tvor, he played the dastardly Ben Freeman, and lured young Zoe away into the cult.
Oh that is easy, the cult was named after Brian Park the producer at the time!
bbhilda: Correct! It's a classic, isn't it?
If i recall, the photo of the cult leader was actually a photo/painting of Brian Park, or thinly disguised. I may be wrong.
You're a peach, Sky, thanks for all the help.
Tvor: Aye! I think you're right. Haha... I forgot about that.
Miss Tami: You're very welcome.
Hi, Sky! Just wanted to give you a link to the news blog so you can see that we did link you.
