I've done a full 180 on the buried baby storyline. I didn't like the ret-con or the icky idea of it and thought the story only existed to bring Toyah and Nick together (Nick is catnip to women who used to hate him (see also: Carla)) but I now realise it was part of i) the rift between Toyah and Leanne and ii) the way Rowan and The Institute will attempt to bully and manipulate poor Toyah. Georgia Taylor has been great in this but top props have to go to Jane Danson; she was absolutely chilling in her viciousness in Friday's ep. Anyway, I'm going to trust in the process/storyliners.
Sarah wheedles the truth out of Nick about Toyah's recent run in with the police and goes around to Victoria Court to empathise with her. Seems like things are turning a page but then a bunch of yellow roses turn up for Toyah from Rotten Rowan. Toyah tackles Leanne who admits that she did tell Rowan about the Red Rec baby.
Nick once again makes it all about him, asking Leanne if she loves Rowan or is having an affair with him and demands she stop seeing him. It's all about his jealousy rather than her joining a creepy controlling cult. He gives her an ultimatum - him or The Institute and unfortunately for Nick, she doesn't choose him. Hope Rowan can find a bed for AI Oliver as well. It doesn't take long for Nick to seek some comfort as he and Toyah play tonsil tennis on the sofa.
More sibling squabbles as Glenda and George agree to do mediation and Debbie somewhat bizarrely agrees to facilitate it. Debbie is not quite up to the task of solving or soothing forty years of Shuttleworth resentments though as G 'n' G yell at each other in the pub. After sneaking Michael out of the pub early in the morning, Glenda sneaks him back in again for some R 'n' R.
Not sibling rivalry, but family fallouts continue as Bobby prepares to move out to live with his grandma. He stops off at Stu's bday party to apologise to Ken and is invited to have a drink with the oldsters. Ken goes home feeling ill and Bobby, peering through the letterbox, sees Ken at the bottom of the stairs - is Daniel lurking around somewhere?! Ken is admitted to Kate Oates Memorial and Yasmeen, who isn't next of kin, is told he has a mild concussion and fractured pelvis.
D.S. Swain, looking very sexy, turns up to the factory wanting to fix a date. Although unfortunately not with Carla, she wants to know when her daughter can start on her work experience. During GCSEs? Really? I guess a new troubled teen is coming into the street; has anyone alerted Joel?
Paul has an MND meeting at which he is told he might not be able to use the stairlift any more as his muscles deteriorate and he feels that he won't be able to go outside.
Finally, the private detective can't find who is posting the deep fake vids and he suggests Abi and Kevin find someone who specialises in cybercrime, but Abi is against the idea, saying they need to get a hacker.

For goodness' sake. Yet another affair. I've enjoyed the growing understanding and closeness between Nick and Toyah, but more as a brother-sister thing. Why does it always result in sex in the soaps? Leanne's behaviour was appalling but she's not herself. Rowan is cleverly grooming her. He wants her money, not her body. Leanne had just reassured Nick that she loves him and wants a better future for both of them. Misguided of course but Nick can't justify snogging Toyah a few hours later.
I loved Rita's comment that George and Glenda have broken Debbie!
