KEVIN’S DEEP FAKE IS FAKE When Abi asks Kevin about him getting up in the night he puts it down to stress but later calls into the salon with a stolen mobile phone and asks Max if he can hack into it. When Tyrone opens an email to find a video of Kevin breaking into Stefan’s office Kev assures him it is another deep fake video. Bethany sees Max with the phone she realises Kevin stole it and tells him not to drag her family into the situation. When Kevin turns up at Stefan’s office Stefan says his video footage of Kevin breaking and entering could land him in jail. Meanwhile Abi is shocked when she overhears Tyrone telling Craig thay kevin has been the victim of a deep fake video. Kevin returns to No.13 to find Abi and Craig waiting will he report Stefan?

THE WINTER-BROWNS SIT UP AND TAKE NOTICE Dee Dee informs Gemma that her landlord could be fined for failing to carry out essential repairs to No.5’s boiler if she reported him. Will her advice work? As Joseph is dropped home by his school friend Olly’s posh mum, Chesney’s gutted to realise Joseph has made out he runs a successful catering empire.

CASSIE’S JOB HAS ITS HIGHS AND LOWS When Cassie arrives for work at No.1, Steve relishes informing her that her first task is to cut Ken’s toenails.  Cassie swallows her disgust. Enjoying Cassie’s company, Ken suggests they go out for a spot of lunch. Amy is amused at how much Cassie gets under her dad’s skin.  Amy suggests to Steve that there’s a spark between him and Cassie and he’s in denial about his attraction to her.  Steve firmly denies it and Amy hides her amusement.

ELSEWHERE Joel confides in Dee-Dee his sadness at keeping their engagement from his parents. Joel spots Sabrina in a state of distress outside the police station and learns her brother has been arrested. Joel hands her his business card and tells her to give him a call.  As Sabrina’s friend joins her, Joel heads inside, pleased to have found a new target.

‘Rovers on Rails’ as Manchester prepares to travel on Corrie trams

The UK’s most insta-trammable carriages join the Metrolink network.

In the ‘moving people’ business it’s a well known fact that TFGM (Transport for Greater Manchester) is constantly contacted asking where the ‘Coronation Street’ tram stop is, not least as there is a CGI tram in the programme’s titles and a ‘tram stop’ on the show’s set.

Indeed, after the tram crash in 2010’s 50th Anniversary episode, TfGM had almost 300 queries asking if the trams were still running in Manchester, such is the zeitgeist of the world’s longest running soap.

In the ‘real world’ to head towards the ‘Corrie’ site for a visit, the nearest stop is the IWM North, a short wander away from the ‘Coronation Street Experience’, which proudly corners the largest single TV production site in the world.

And from June 19th,  you might  be arriving in true ‘Corrie style, as today ITV Studios proudly reveal the most ‘Manc’ transport ever with the launch of  the ‘Coronation Street Experience’ tram, a unique homage to the show which will meander across the network for the next 12 months .

Created with visuals from Manchester based agency ‘Meanwhile’.  The ‘insta-trammable’ rolling stock is dressed with a gorgeous mock up of illustrations from the cobbles giving passengers the change to head to Rochdale through the legendary ‘Rovers doors’, arrive at Kingsway through the Kabin door,  make their way to the Velopark via Vera and Jack’s infamous clad ‘No. 9 door or rock up at Radcliffe through the entrance to Roys Rolls!

A bit of fun for the city as the summer takes hold and a great way to head towards the ‘Coronation Street Experience’,  the team also snuck into the real world briefly as the IWM stop became ‘Weatherfield North’ for the day!

Jurian Van de Meer, EVP Brand Licensing, ITV, said “We are beyond excited to launch the Coronation Street Tram as we celebrate a year of the Coronation Street Experience. We can’t wait to see the reaction from fans in Manchester as this iconic tram rolls through the city, bringing the magic of the Coronation Street Experience to life"

John Whiston, MD Continuing Drama for ITV Studios said "We've got our very own Weatherfield tram stop where our characters catch a handy tram 'into town'. And we've even very occasionally got a virtual tram going past over our bridge. However we've never actually ventured onto Manchester's Metrolink other than fictionally, so it's exciting that an actual tram will sport some fine Coronation Street livery.  All in the aid of telling people how easy it is to journey to the Coronation Street Experience on a 'real tram' so they can walk down those legendary cobbles. Bring flat shoes! “

Pete Sommers, TfGM’s Interim Metrolink Network Director, said: “Since opening in 1992 Metrolink has seen several expansions and new stops built, so we were delighted to welcome some of Coronation Street’s residents onto the newly crowned Weatherfield North stop on the Trafford Park Line.

“Metrolink, like Corrie, is an iconic symbol of Greater Manchester that has gone from strength to strength over the years, so we are delighted to be supporting ITV Studios and the Coronation Street Experience which is just a stone’s throw away from the Imperial War Museum stop.

“Passengers will also have the chance to board the Corrie-themed tram out on the network over the coming months, so I’d urge people to keep an eye out.”

Preview of tonight's Coronation Street - Wednesday 19th June 2024

Wednesday 19th June 2024

ABI BELIEVES STEFAN IS THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN Abi tells Kevin that she’s done some digging, Stefan Brent is a board director of the production company that made the documentary, he also owns the magazine and he must have created the deep fake videos out of revenge. Having reported Stefan to the police, Abi and Kevin watch as DS Swain drags him into an interview room, fervently hoping that their nightmare will soon be over. Bethany calls at the garage and tells Abi that she’ll quit her job if it’s what she wants, but it could be useful to have someone on the inside to keep tabs on Stefan. Kevin calls on Bethany and tells her that if she really wants to help, she can lend him her security pass to Stefan’s offices. Bethany reluctantly hands it over.

CASSIE CARES ABOUT KEN Steve makes out to Ken that Cassie’s a qualified carer and they hired her through an agency, Cassie starts work at No.1, but when she reveals that she’s had no training and only stepped in to help out and save the family a bit of cash, Ken’s quietly furious. Can Cassie persuade Ken to let her do the job? Cassie sets Ken straight, explaining that she was honest with Steve from the off and never pretended to have any qualifications, will she win him round?

ROWAN HAS TOYAH CORNERED Toyah tells Nick that they’ve little choice but to come clean to Leanne about their brief affair. A smug Rowan is holding a meeting in the Bistro much to Nick and Toyah’s dismay. Rowan corners Toyah and hands her a copy of the NDA, suggesting she signs it. When Toyah makes it clear she won’t be blackmailed and she intends to come clean, Rowan points out that it’ll destroy Leanne but he’ll be happy to pick up the pieces.  Toyah’s sickened. Will Toyah tell Leanne? Rowan makes a speech and announces that Leanne has been promoted to level 5 and he couldn’t be more proud of her.  The members clap and Leanne basks in the glory. Nick and Toyah watch in disgust.

ELSEWHERE Gemma resolves to chase the landlord again over the new boiler. Having had no luck with the landlord, Chesney tells Gemma that he’ll look into installing an electric shower as they’re far cheaper than a boiler.

Having seen Felix off at the airport, Summer admits to Paul she was upset to see him go.

The occupational therapist calls at the flat and after quizzing Paul about his fall, suggests that it might be time to stop using the stairlift.
