It never ceases to amaze me how in soap land, young people with hardly any money can up sticks and move to Australia.
Ellis did it on Emmerdale and now Jon who is trollie pusher at a Grocery store has the money to buy a beach bar in Australia, completely ridiculous!

@ANON above - Jon was bequeathed money from his Grandfather after his death, that's how he can afford the move. This was not a secret.

Yes, you're right. He was. What a way to make a new life. Good luck to him

But good point in general Anon. Also folk moving to countries where they don't speak the language, and all their worldly goods fit in a bin bag!

Isn't Emma's Mum Fiona supposed to be living in Australia?
She has a brother too, as I recall.

Australia is a big place! Why hasn't Emma told Jon about her Mum? Is Jon headed to a particular city? They could go to where Fiona is, then Emma won't be alone if things don't work out with Jon. The half-brother has been conveniently forgotten.

If he’s inherited the money, he has the means, but for either of them to think of emigrating together after a couple of dates? They don’t live together or have any mutual friends and yet they’re planning a future together on the other side of the world. This has ‘hurried exit storyline’ all over it.
