I'm not sure about Coronation Street's Windass clan and can't decide whether they're Shameless-lite (or just Sh-ite for short). But I have to admit, that Eddie's baking skills have gone some way to my warming towards them. What do you reckon?

Are you warming to the Windasses?
I'm not sure about Coronation Street's Windass clan and can't decide whether they're Shameless-lite (or just Sh-ite for short). But I have to admit, that Eddie's baking skills have gone some way to my warming towards them. What do you reckon?

Eddie is thorougly gross and off putting, even more than Les Battersby ever was so i suppose that means the actor is doing a stonking good job. I kind of like Anna, she's sort of Janice-y but a little softer. I could cheerfully lose the kid though. Really. Lose him. He's very one dimensional at the moment and turning him around to have unmined depths is only going to feel like a set up, contrived.
I'm not fond of the dad and the lad. Uncle Len's ok as is the mum but they're the Mortons all over again and Corrie should have learned by their mistake that time around, surely?
First the Harris' and then the Moretons and now the Windasses. Corrie can not get it right with these families. How long before this lot get the boot and yet another pointless family are introduced? We need a family that are going to be around for a few years to come and not until the public or indeed, Corrie bosses themselves tire of them!
I was quite happily enjoying Corrie until the Wind-up-their-ass-family plotline. This particular story has put me right off Corrie.
Exactly who's decision was it to premier the Windass family?
Looks like it was Producer Kym Crowther's decision. I think every producer gets one mistake and this could be hers...??
Yes, agree with all the above - Shameless with knobs on apart from the downtrodden wife who is to be pitied for having such a poor sense of judgement in ever considering Eddie Windass as a life partner. Why do we need these unpleasant characters? What do they add to Corrie? Are they a social comment? Just what is the point of having the lowest common denominator - why not try and raise standards?
Who the hell would ever eat a cake made by that filthy, looks like he needs a scrub with carbolic soap, dirty get Windass? And who would get in his cab?
Good to know I'm not alone in disliking them!
My initial reaction was total astonishment. How could any family having such an unfortunate and unlikely name also be of low character.
However, I suspect the Father will prove to be a reformed and upstanding individual, free of his medical equipages.
