Now then, this little snippet of info has started me thinking - we never really see any of the Coronation Street characters with a book in their hands, do we? Blanche is the only one I can recall enjoying a bit of reading, usually a big fat novel and usually in the bath. Bring back Mel Hutchwright and let the book club begin again!Sunday, 22 February 2009

Rita seems to me the kind who would settle down with a Maeve Binchy every once in a while, when she's not watching 'Eggheads' that is LOL
Incidentally I love the little references that some of the writers put in to real life. I'm waiting for the day when someone says, 'Sorry, I can't come to the Rovers because I want to catch Eastenders' LOL
What about Ken's pornographic or gay novel. The book club was classic Corrie, and we want to see it again.
The book club brought the oldies together in a great way, bring it back, yes!
