Would ITV's credit crunch really hit Corrie?

It's been reported that ITV are suffering from the credit crunch so much that they're thinking about selling off some of their top programmes, including Coronation Street.

It seems unlikely (to me, but what do I know?) that ITV would sell of its best performing telly programme but the story in The Express suggests Yorkshire TV is under consideration to be closed and rival soap Emmerdale could be moved to Manchester.

Now, all this could be a load of old soapy dishwash, but where there's smoke, could there really be a hotpot on fire?
