In last Wednesday's episode of Coronation Street, Gail Platt sighed at the bar of the Rovers Return and reminisced about her old mate, Suzi Birchall. I'm of an, um, age which means that I remember the character of Suzi Birchall well. She had an even greater impact on males of the nation as she was as brassy as they come, and very sexy and sassy.
"She was a bit of a go-er," recalled Gail. Played by actress Cheryl Murray, you can read more about the wonderful Suzi Birchall at corrie.net

I must have been about ten or eleven when Suzie was in the Street. I have quite good memories of her and remember wishing I had her confidence. Didn't she lodge with Elsie Tanner?
She did indeed lodge with Elsie and was brought into the show to be "the new Elsie" according to one of the official Corrie books I have, written by Daran Little.
I think Helen Worth got her lines wrong on that one. What she was supposed to say was: 'She was a bit of a goddess'.
Production values really have slipped on the show. ;-)
She seems to have a certain effect on men of a certain age!
