Coronation Street's Best of British 2010

Remember when ITV announced it was going to sign up with promotional partners for Coronation Street's 50th anniversary next year? Well, industry magazine Brand Republic report that only UK, home-grown only brands are going to be used. Here's the science bit, direct from the mag:

"The platform for the Coronation Street promotional programme has been dubbed Best of British 2010 by the broadcaster. ITV is looking to recruit brands from five categories including bread, tea and snacks. According to insiders it has so far agreed deals in three of these sectors and is in discussions with brands to fill the remaining slots. ITV Global director of promotions Corine Pouvreau-Miles said the Coronation Street promotions will be coordinated by ITV. A new logo is also being developed for the partner brands to place on-pack".

So there you have it. UK grown bread, tea, snacks and Corrie. What more could you want?
