He came onto the cobbles, teaching English Lit to Sally and patronising Fiz. He whimpered by the whiteboard in the classroom every time Rosie came into class and if Kev Webster hadn't thrown him to the cobbles and knocked seven bells out of his insipid little face, I might have had to do it myself. And now he's coming back! Next week! What's the point of John Stape? Anyone know?Of all the folk they could bring back to Coronation Street, why not this well loved character or even this one (my fave!)

I totally agree. He's a non-starter in my books. i suppose with so many characters leaving, they're trying to shore up the cast but why him? Unless Fiz is going to knock him back again. Somehow i doubt it though.
Wonder what Sally will make of his return too?
I never, ever could figure out what the Webster women (any of them) saw in John but until he got involved with Rosie he seemed to have some integrity, if not charisma.
I've forgotten - Did Kevin ever find out about Sally's crush on John?
I'm not sure that Kev did find out about Sally's crush on John. Rosie knew so she could use the info to blackmail Sally in future I suppose.
