Events largely revolve around the Plummer family because we now know that Tyrone is actually a Plummer, along with Evelyn and Cassie, since Cassie let the moggy loose on Wednesday evening. Ty is conscious that Evelyn has not been entirely honest (well you can sort of see her point of view) and who would not be curious about their "dead" mother?
However first up Tyrone is supposed to be fizzing off to Norwich with Hope and Ruby and he shows some sense in that he engineers keeping the two girls away from his uncertain mother by organising for Kev to drive them halfway - so somewhere around where the M6 and A14 meet Fiz will take the kids on!
Ty goes to the flat where Evelyn and Cassie are living and sends his Nan out whilst he listens to Cassie spin a story - and it is a good story - but it comes from an addict - is it the truth or is it "her truth"? When Evelyn returns she is told in no uncertain terms that a) Cassie is coming to live on t'Street and b) Evelyn is persona non grata for the foreseeable future.
Evelyn knows that Cassie stole cash and Cassie denies it. Roy also tells Evelyn some home truths - everyone is being very unfair to the Dame tonight - Cassie accuses Evelyn (to Tyrone) of being controlling. Evelyn denies it and they argue but Ty has made his decision.
The time has come for a Bailey story. Apparently the last job at Tavern Mews made money and they need to re-invest in a sure fire winner. Ed is cautious and wants to continue with modest property development - he knows it, understands it and can do it in his sleep. Ronnie meanwhile fancies something which is a little more speculative and they are in the lounge at Chariot Square when they spot Philip Newton (of Newton and Ridley) dining with Jason Waterford and drinking the hotel's finest champagne.
Debbie explains to Ronnie that Waterford is a major food and drink retailer who is expanding by buying pubs and breweries. Due to a little sleight of hand Debbie gets her hands on a document implying that Waterford is going to buy Newton and Ridley - so investing in Newton and Ridley shares is going to make a lot of money. I wonder if Henry Newton knows he is about to lose his birthright? And is it insider trading? Ed refuses to get involved.
Ryan's behaviour is becoming more irrational as the steroid injections are impacting his mental stability - so having exchanged words with Carla over her tidying his bedroom he assaults the wardrobe - which takes the damage silently.
Later outside Vikki Gardens Ryan has a funny turn and Gary stops to help him. Ryan claims that he has simply overdone his exercise and denies he has taken anything stronger than caffeine. He apologises to Carla but has a realisation that perhaps the steroids are doing more harm than good so stuffs them in the waste basket. But is it really over?
George has printed new Shuttleworth business cards showing Todd's award under the latter's name on the bottom of the card. Todd has started his training course - but is finding the studying difficult. This being Coronation Street he will probably be on Ritalin or Adderall within days so he can cope. Apparently according to George a massage is good for dead bodies as it helps rigor mortis. I get the sense that all the morgue related chat over the breakfast table is a bit much for Eileen.
Carla is back and I mean Carla is back. Marching around the factory, preparing for a killer speech to a retailer - but Carla accepts assistance from Stephen - are they going to be able to work together? The meeting goes well and indeed Carla even acknowledges that Stephen was helpful and he knows his stuff.
Roy goes to the flat and seeks to make his peace with Evelyn who says that Cassie is using - no proof but she knows it - and Ty is too trusting. Evelyn has the chance to tell "her truth" and she knows that Cassie is an addict. With Cassie ensconced at the Dobbs' house we see inside her bag and can see that Evelyn was indeed right as she has a box of the pregablin - the drug she mentioned earlier. Ty and Cassie toast their future.
Bonus shot of Cassie - but simply because that is the door onto the balcony - it is not the front door - behind her - so why does it have a letter box?
I find writing about Cassie hard for a couple of reasons - some elements feel a little close to home for various reasons - but also it is fair to say that (and no-one reads this far down do they?) I find Ms Sweeney very attractive (am I allowed to say things like that these days?). I would probably be dumbstruck if I was ever lucky enough to meet her and will continue to admire from afar - but it does influence my reporting! Eg I cannot imagine a Liverpudlian girl not having a backbone and not being able to deal with bullies. And Ty is 40 and I have trouble believing that Cassie is much older than that!
And alongside this can someone have a word with management please? I realise that drug addiction is bad - but to have Ryan and Cassie both dosing themselves is at least two too many in a single episode. Steroids and pregabalin by the way are both controlled class C drugs in the UK.

Surely some bad continuity in this episode. Before an ad break Tyrone comes into the flat and speaks to Cassie who is wearing a T-shirt, after the ad break Tyrone is stood in exactly the same place with the conversation picking up where it left off but Cassie is now wearing her jacket and bag.
Why do the writers presume we all know about drugs? The drugs Cassie had in her bag looked like prescription drugs, I have no idea what pregabalin (?) is. So is Cassie prescribed these drugs to help her get off whatever she was on before or does she obtain them illegally?
Yes I noticed Evelyn's arms were folded, then down, then folded again in the space of around a minute. It really was bad continuity as it jumped about a bit and looked odd.
I had to Google it as I didn't know what it was either or it's uses
