Video: January spoilers for Coronation Street

The official Coronation Street website at itv.com/corrie have released a video trailer of January storylines on Coronation Street. 

It features the upcoming bus crash, Kirk and Beth's wedding, Callum vs David for Max and Kylie and is worth a little look. UK fans can view it below.

Sorry overseas fans, it looks like the videos are still not available for you to watch from ITV, which is a huge shame.

Gavin's identity about to be exposed in Coronation Street

The Mirror has some picture spoilers on the Gavin who's not Gavin storyline today. 

Gavin tries to smooth things with Steph by turning up at The Bistro with flowers to apologise for being off-hand with her on New Year's Eve when he caught her with his phone.  But Steph's confused when the real Gavin’s ex-girlfriend Lisa calls into The Bistro looking for him while the fake Gavin hides behind the bar.

I'm looking forward to Gavin who's not Gavin's secret being exposed and am quite enjoying this storyline.

Corrie Weekly Awards Dec. 29 - Jan. 2

Gullible award: Norris.

Art Critic award: Gavin espousing Modern Art, the sort that makes a statement even if you have no clue what it is. That's pretty much my take on most of it as well!

Embezzlement award: Steve is using business funds to fix his car!

Dodge the bullet award: Gavin managed to find the real Gavin's National Insurance details but slipped out of having the payroll deposited into a bank account.

A House Divided award: Roy and Gary have made peace between themselves. Too bad all the neighbours are still holding a grudge against one or the other.

Auld Lang Syne award: Roy and Steve both are facing what seems to them to be a bleak new year.

Guard Dog award: Yasmeen. I bet the bullies won't bother Roy anymore now that Yasmeen is on their case. Storyline dropped. End of.

First Wedding Dance fail: All Night Long by Lionel Ritchie. Kirk's right, too many tempos.

Legal tangles award: Gary couldn't stop the police from charging Roy. How come Roy or someone was able to stop them from charging Gary? Or did they?

Unpleasant Cow award: Katy. She's gobbing off at Amy for the ghost thing this week. I suppose it makes a change from gobbing off at and about Gary, neither situation having anything to do with her.

Fashion win: I loved Audrey's red shirt and the black and white scarf!

 Happy New Year to you all. I truly hope that 2015 brings you everything you wish for yourself, your family and your friends.  And so, without any further ado, here we go with the first weekly update of the new year!

After attacking Gary last week, Roy is beside himself with guilt and remorse. Gary’s discharged from hospital, covered in bruises and won’t press charges while Anna walks around with a face on shooting evils at Roy every chance she can. Both Gary and Roy are blaming themselves for what happened and although Gary hasn’t taken the matter further, Roy’s still summoned to court. I don’t understand the law so I didn’t understand then why Roy was in court, and why he’s ended up with 100 hours of community service. But, as Roy says, he’ll put his best efforts into every minute of every one of those hours, all 100 of them.

Norris discovers how to use Google Streetview on his iPad and zooms in over Coronation Street. He spots a strange white cloud outside of the Barlow house and as the Google pic was taken on the same day that Blanche died, thinks that paranormal activity has been captured (even if Blanche died in Portugal, you’ll recall).  It’s more likely the strange white cloud was Deirdre smoking in the ginnel. Anyway, paranormal in mind, Norris pops round to the Barlow’s where Amy gets wind of what Norris is up to. She does her best to scare Norris by pretending she can see nanna Blanche and is receiving messages from her. Messages such as “Norris is a nasty man,” and “Norris is a bit daft in the head”.  But then Amy takes things too far and upsets Faye, telling her she can see dead people including Faye’s real mum. When Katy storms into Barlow’s Buys to tell Tracy off for letting Amy upset Faye in this way, Amy tells her she’s receiving messages from nanna Blanche and she’s got one for Katy too. “Oh yeah?” says Katy. “What’s she saying then?” Amy replies: “She says your skirt’s too short and you wear too much make-up!” I don't know about the ghost of nanna Blanche, but the spirit is definitely there. The mother-daughter bonding scenes, odd as the pair of them are, between Tracy and Amy are brilliant to watch.

Over at Streetcars, there’s no money left in the account after Steve blows the lot on Amy’s Christmas presents and his new sports car.  Liz and Eileen confront Steve and he takes himself upstairs in the pub and breaks down and cries. 

However, no funds at Streetcars means the staff can’t be paid and Michael gets evicted from his flat as he can’t afford the rent. He moves in with David while Gail is in Milan and helps out with the kids as David struggles without Kylie.  He and Eva turn up in the dodgy Dog and Gun pub looking for Kylie and hoping to bring her home. They don’t find Kylie but they do find Callum, who isn’t best pleased that David’s snooping around and threatens him to stay away.  Without Kylie, Audrey has to turn down requests from the ladies of the parish wanting their nails done. “We’re in a bit of a hiatus nail-wise,” she tells callers.

Leanne’s back at the Bistro and needs to check Gavin’s ID so she can put him on the books.  But it’s ID that Gavin hasn’t got. Well, he’s got it but it’s not his, if you follow, so he gives Leanne the real Gavin’s ID and asks to be paid in cash as he hasn’t got a bank account, or so he says.  Real or not, Steph’s fallen for Gavin-me-laddo and the pair of them have a snog on New Year’s Eve.

And finally this week, Sinead designs and creates a wedding basque for Beth to wear at her wedding to Kirk next week. But then Alya goes and steals it and takes it to a wedding fayre, hoping she can interest some buyers. Sinead thinks it’s been stolen when she can’t find it at work, so is relieved when Alya returns it, that is, until Alya points out that one of the buyers spilled red wine all over it.  Julie helps Sinead get the stains out with soda water and Sinead unpicks some of the basque bling to redo it all nicely before Aunty Beth sees it for the very first time.  “I want to get married on a boat,” muses Julie in the Rovers. “What? Like the Isle of Wight ferry?” says Kirk.
