Coronation Street Unveils Kit's Hidden Past in Explosive Flashback Episode

Coronation Street is to explore the complex history of Kit Green, revealing the secrets and events that shaped him into the man he is today.

In a special flashback episode airing on Friday 16 May, viewers will be transported back to 2007 to witness the teenage years of Kit (Jacob Roberts), Mick (Joe Layton), and Lou (Farrel Hegarty) and uncover the truth behind their intertwined past.

Secrets will be revealed, and long-buried traumas will resurface, shedding light on Kit's motivations and the reason behind his complicated relationships.

Viewers have seen glimpses of the tension between Kit and Mick, with Gary (Mikey North) suspecting Kit of covering for Mick. Now, the reasons behind Kit's actions will become clear as we witness the events that bind them together.

The episode will feature three actors taking on the younger roles of Kit (Brook Debio), Mick (Lewis Walton), and Lou (Charlotte Alex-Riley) providing a transition between their past and present lives.

The programme went to great lengths to authentically reflect 2007, ensuring accuracy in every detail.

Jason Wingard, Director of the 2007 flashback episode, said:

“We had to do a lot of research into what would give away the era - In 2007 there were DVDs in shops and music, cars and phones were all different.

“During the planning stage, we had a lot of department meetings. We had to control every aspect of the location, ensuring the right cars and houses were in the background to capture the perfect atmosphere for the episode.

“It’s been a fantastic experience directing this episode, I’m really proud of the performances. The entire cast and crew were amazing and the whole process was exhilarating.”

Speaking on Kit’s special flashback episode, Jacob Roberts said:

"I was grateful that we'd be delving into Kit's past to show why he is the way he is. He lived a completely different life back then, one he's worked hard to leave behind, unlike Mick.

"The arrival of Mick and Lou has definitely shaken Kit. He knows they bring trouble, and now, as a Detective Constable, his job is to maintain peace in Weatherfield. Kit was very much like Mick and Lou growing up, and they hold that over him so he's terrified of his past coming back to haunt him.

"It was also quite surreal meeting Brook, the actor playing young Kit – definitely a funny experience to come face-to-face with a younger version of myself!"

I bet Mick the thug set up those lads to attack Liam, in order to play the hero and impress Maria and Gary, and get the job at the builder's yard.

Sounds like an attempt to get us to understand and sympathise with some of the least sympathetic characters. Unfortunately, the enormous chip on Kit's shoulder is largely manifest in his lack of professionalism as a police detective and a 'user' of women in particular.

Anon 7:20...I was thinking the same thing..
So guessing Kit is more of a chip off the block than he was letting on. I thought maybe he had a thing with Lou and Brody was really Kit's and not Mick's son. We'll see.

Anon 18:44 - there's been speculation online - or spoilers? - that Brody is Kit's son.
Anon 17:49 - that's right. Kit is shifty. The only time he has shown any humanity was in his relationship with Paul and Gemma. Not enough to redeem him overall.

I hate Kit, I hate Mick (Mark?) and I hate Lou. Get rid of all three of them. Horrible characters, and not even in a "love to hate" way.
Please don't try to redeem these characters - just cut your losses, admit you made a mistake and get rid of them. Anyone remember Nikki and Paulo from Lost? Like that, please!

To be honest , I'd like kit, Lisa and Betsy to go. Bring daisy back, plus Peter and Simon Barlow (played by a different actor).
