Cold Feet star John Thomson is joining Coronation Street, says ITV.John will play (the website says) a "hilarious" role, and joins the cast in October to film three episodes.
The episodes will be shown on ITV1 towards the end of the year, and Corrie producers hope that Salford-born comic Thomson will be tempted to return to the Street for a longer stint with the ITV1 soap in 2009.
