Preview of today's Coronation Street - Monday 29th December 2025

Monday 29th December 2025

KIT’S INTRIGUED BY CARLA’S SILENCE Sarah tells Kit that Carla still isn’t responding to emails which seems odd. Kit flips through Carla’s diary.

TODD’S LEFT OUT IN THE COLD The guests gather in the bistro for George and Glenda’s joint party. Nick chats to Todd and suggests they go for a run together. When Sarah lets slip that Nick was Todd’s first ever crush, Theo glares over at them. Christina’s annoyed to discover Glenda failed to order a cake. Theo tells her that he and Todd will go and fetch one. As he steers Todd towards the door, Billy watches with concern. Having collected the cake, Theo rounds on Todd for flirting with Nick. Todd tries to reason with him but Theo climbs in the car and drives off leaving Todd stranded.

BEN IS WISE TO MAGGIE’S PLAN Will puts pressure on Ben to build bridges with Maggie. Ben suspects Maggie’s put him up to it but Will gives nothing away. Maggie does her best to win Ben round, admitting she was wrong to have a go at Eva.

ELSEWHERE Abi tells Carl she’s off out shopping. Alone with Tracy she breaks down, fearing for her relationship. When Tyrone asserts that he’s going to skip his physio session, Evelyn reckons he’s scared because today was supposed to be a first attempt at walking.

Episode Review Friday 26 December 2025

So Daniel got hit over the head; turns out that Will was responsible for the initial assault which Maggie witnessed from the upstairs window at number 1,  She left number one and went round to the entryway or ginnel and removed his watch and wallet which have now been found on a rough sleeper who is being detained at His Majesty's local residence on the belief that if he has the stolen items he must be responsible for the assault and theft.  We know different.

Talking of things we know but most of the Street does not yet know.  Becky has Carla contained in a closet - or she did.  There is a mystery phone call where someone has done something for Becky so I think we might assume that Carla is no longer in the closet.

Elsewhere we have known for some time that Carl is a disreputable, dishonest Tyrone injurer and all round bad egg.  Tracy has been on his case for some time and has a few words with Abi about men being deceitful.  Abi also spots that Michael has a necklace identical to James who reveals that they both had the same gift from their mother Aggie this year and she ahs already seen the identical one of the sofa in the flat.  By dint of asking Carl to type in his passcode to his phone and reading the messages Carl has been exchanging with James it is now clear that Abi has her worst suspicions confirmed - what Abi does not yet know and Debbie has not yet worked out is just how much Carl has ripped off of R'Debbie.

Theo has booked a spa break for himself and Todd - and inevitably it falls on the same date as Summer has organised for her and Todd to attend a film festival and Q&A with Andrew Scott, which was not in the diary so Theo knew nothing about it.  Inevitable Todd feels he has to go on the spa break and Billy tells Todd how he has changed since got with Theo and leaves a sour taste all the way round.  These things happen - but we all start wondering where the hotel is - apparently Anne Boleyn stayed there but it turns out it is in Somerset.

Unsolved crimes against storytelling this week.  Alya has been homeless as far as I am aware since Yasmeen sold the house to Carla.  Amazingly she is going to move in with Adam - wherever he is living?  Also worth noting tonight was Evelyn who was wondering about stirring the pot with Abi. Maggie and at the start of the episode walking Roy's dog she found Daniel lying down.

I should be here next week but will definitely not be here the following week as I am once again going on holiday.

Conversation Street Podcast Episode #712

Christmas time is here, and you know what? It just wouldn't be the same without erratic broadcast schedules, cheesy opening music montages and a big old dollop of misery splatting down onto pretty much everyone unfortunate enough to live on Coronation Street. This year saw the showrunners putting most of their rotten eggs in the Driscolls' basket, with a family meal for the Street's newest residents turning pungent thanks to the mean-spirited machinations of manipulative Maggie. Meanwhile, Carla's having a pretty rubbish Christmas too after being kidnapped by Becky, who takes the opportunity to seduce Lisa into bed in her partner's absence - is it all over for Swarla? Also this week, Abi makes a shocking discovery about Carl and James, Sally gives Joanine and Shanice a Christmas Eve to remember and the Platts get a festive message from Gail.

To mark 15 years since the Corrie tram crash, for this week's bonus podcast we sat down for a chat with Becky Hindley, the actress behind the 50th anniversary week's first victim, Charlotte Hoyle. Becky recalls what it was like filming her famous demise at the hands of John Stape, the thrill of the live episode and being part of the Coronation Street cast during one of the show's most exciting periods.
