Bring Nancy Tinker back to Coronation Street

I loved her as Brookside's Doreen Corkhill and I'm loving her as Nancy Tinker on Coronation Street.

Actress Kate Fitzgerald is wonderful and it's time, I reckon, for the character of Nancy to return to the street on a permanent basis. 

So far Nancy has floated in and out of the show. Last night she appeared for the wedding of her granddaughter Sinead.  She first appeared in Corrie at the wedding of her daughter Beth to Kirk.

Nancy is wonderfully inappropriate, and as common as muck. In other words, she's perfect for Coronation Street and just what it needs right now.

I say bring her in full-time, Corrie please.

Brookside's Doreen Corkhill joins Corrie as Beth's mum

Digital Spy reveal that one of my favourite actresses, Kate Fitzgerald, is joining Coronation Street - to play Beth Tinker's mum.

Kate Fitzgerald played Doreen Corkhill in Brookside and I'm very excited that she's going to be turning up in Corrie.  With Pearl from Last of the Summer Wine arriving as Beth's grandma and Doreen Corkhill as Beth's mum, it looks like Kirk and Beth's wedding in the New Year will be an episode to remember, hopefully for all the right reasons.

Kate Fitzgerald recently turned up in Cilla on ITV.  I can't wait to see her in Coronation Street.  Her spotlight website shows that the character will be called Nancy.
