Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 24th of Oct 8.30pm

As promised, here is the part two review of this Wednesday's Coronation Street.

At the awards bash the coveted prize is awarded to Jude Appleton, much to Mary & Roy's dismay. As a shocked Angie finds out the truth, the duplicity of Jude's lies is laid bare.

The fallout may give Angie enough excuses to finally end the marriage, but as Jude leaves Weatherfield he leaves George and Angie behind.

At the Bistro, Emma's and Chesney's faux relationship seems to rattle Gemma. Is Chesney's BFF harbouring anything other than friendly feelings?. Gemma meanwhile, seems slightly skewed with commitment-phobe Spike.

Clearly caught in a lovers square (not triangle), does Emma also harbour feelings for Chez?.

In other news; Nick ignores a call from the elusive 'E', Cathy learns more about Brian's deputy-head,  and Tommy Orpington's return to form is delayed. Will Jack ever visit Weatherfield County again?.

Anyway, that's me for another week. This weeks Wednesday double was good, the CGI tram leaving Weatherfield North Tram stop, was flipping brilliant!

I hope you've enjoyed my mid-week paean to the drama of Coronation Street.

Corrie's new era

So the new set finally made its debut on screen tonight, heralding a new era for the street, we didn't really get any big wide views of the street tonight, though I imagine that was done purposefully.

Though what we did see was noticeably bigger, while still remaining that Coronation Street look, I have to admit I was quite surprised by how much it actually resembles the old street on screen, the people behind it have done a fantastic job.

We didn't just get a new street tonight, the titles were finally updated to reflect recent changes on the street, with Nick's Bistro now appearing at the end of the street, and a new shot showing the Kabin and Viaduct Street, showing off the new full length viaduct (that used to cut off just after R'Terry's old club).

The new shots in the opening titles seemed to be a bit more in focus too, compared to how they used to look. I can't wait to see how they begin to use the new set in the months to come, could we see some new business' crop up? Or some old business' blow up?

For those of you who missed the titles, or live in Canada, Youtube user Corrie Xtra uploaded the new titles for all to see.

Return of the tram

Did anyone else notice this in Monday's episode? We finally got a glimpse of the trams running again, the last time we saw one in the street, was when it was on the cobbles.
