Tonight between drinking sessions and dealing with clients Todd finally returned to his old duplicitous ways. Having gone out drinking last night Christina has a severe hangover and Glenda thinks she is on a promise with Fraser. Celeste rocks up at the undertakers to tell Todd about her fringed, white onesie and a very large rhinestone encrusted stetson which might make the coffin lid difficult and she lets slip that Fraser bats for Todd's team and is merely intending a pleasant drink with a right-on supporter in Glenda. Todd takes a call from George nagging him about his drinking and Celeste then takes the hump when Todd wants to rebook her for next Wednesday and leaves. Hopefully she will return.
Joanie and Shanice return and Sally's house is rather full so Brody is moving into No 7 with the Alahans. Lucy gets to feel even more out of place but Tim manages to talk to her and although I still believe she knows more about her mother's death than we are being told a semblance of order descends no. 4. Tim admits to liking Wethy County and cheese - she likes making jewellery and playing the piano.
The Rovers was front and centre this episode, Ben is suffering some poor reviews for the quality of the toilet paper! Maggie and Brian are discussing various sweets of the past including spangles. Idris, Leanne, Adam, Alya, Nick and Toyah have a darts match - boys vs girls. The boys win on Adam scoring a double 8. Ben and Adam bring their feud to an end as Adam admits that Megan ought to be in prison. Nick makes it clear to Adam that he cannot stand Idris and we know that Adam seems less than keen on Idris even if Alya keeps pressing Adam to accept him.
Idris has plans for Speed Dahl and the deal should go through next week. Adam is amazed that Idris has the money lying around but Leanne attributes it to a magic money tree. Idris crosses paths with Ronnie for the first time and this is a precursor of the need for Fiona to be repaid for the missing gun (which Jodie had at one point).
Nina has made it back from Whitby with the sad news that she made a complete mess of her interview and she is telling Asha just how bad when her phone pings and it is a message from the interviewer saying that they would be pleased to have her join them among all the other goths and emos in Whitby and when can she start?
After Glenda has given Todd a few kind words of advice or a rancid piece of her mind depending on your point of view he leaves the Rovers and encounters Fraser whom it transpires is up for a round of afternoon delight. Glenda, Christina, Mary and Summer (having been to the cinema) all later witness Fraser coming down the stairs at No. 11. Judging by his actions Todd is now back to where he was many years ago before he became almost civilised. Todd tells Glenda that she should be thanking him - after all if they had got cosy and she planted lips on him they would both have been mortified. Glenda does not quite see it like that. Summer is not impressed by her remaining father figure and when they talk Todd claims he is more himself than he has been for years, being nice got him abused, bullied and beaten up. Now it is to hell with everyone else.
I am still having some techy problems for which I apologise. I hope the screen captures are better this week. Villainous Todd is back in the house - I wonder how long he will last. Tim is the arch child whisperer and are we backing Ronnie or Idris? Idris does seem to rub people up the wrong way as Adam has never been keen, Nick is far from keen and Fiona would like her money back! Quite a range of enemies. For those struggling Celeste is played by Frances Barber; Fraser is played by Chris Grahamson who has been in the Street twice before in minor roles. All things being equal I should be here next week but the following week will see me on the Amalfi Coast so not here.
