It's musical houses on t'cobbles as various people are moving in or moving out, or not in George's case, as he's still hanging around no. 11 with a face, as Bernie would put it, like a slapped backside. Moving in (or so we think) is Moaning Millie, another one with a visage like a smacked posterior. Theo is once again wearing his singlets, which might suggest he's gone back to being Fun Theo rather than Haunted/Hangdog Theo, but no. When he's out (you'd think it'd be peak scaffolding season and he'd be very busy around the renovators of Chorlton cum Hardy), Millie confesses that she's pregnant. I guess that extreme religious cult the whole family were in isn't that powerful? Also, I imagine that if they are against homosexuality, they're not going to condone abortion. HOWEVER, I may be a little cynical but I suspect Millie might have cooked this up in order to get Daddy Dearest to move back home, which he does towards the end of the episode, leaving Todd living with two middle aged people, none of whom are actually related to him.
Also moving back in is David and most members of Platt chat and David has to get a flatpack bedside table ready in time for an upcoming barbecue* (not sure why they need a bedside table for an outdoor do, but maybe it's going to be one of those parties). Because of this, he gets Lou to cover his shift at the salon, but none of the regulars want her to cut their hair given that her husband is a cop-killer (what did they think she'd do - murder their perm in cold blood?)
*this seems an odd choice of party given what happened to the house at the hands of Max.
Talking of houses, the mystery of what happened to Lisa's remains unsolved but also closed. She lives with Carla (but not Bobby who's been (temporarily I hope) written out) now and that's that. She's odd and distant and Carla tries to get her to open up, but to no avail. Even Kirk can't help because he's gone to Craig's funeral with Peanut as his emotional support dog. Meanwhile, Kit stops his on/off son Brody from nicking a bottle whisky but the latter gets hold of some anyway and has a seizure on the street, at which point, Kit takes him to hospital and Bernie steals his hat so they can do a secret DNA test. This is not as stupid an idea as when she stole Gemma's pregnant wee to sell online but not a great plan either.
And finally, Leanne and Ronnie (wearing a lovely salmon jacket that matches the Bistro banquettes and possibly also the menu) bond over being dumpees. Unfortunately, Leanne uses the non-date to have a go at Toyah, who waitresses their table. To be fair to Toyah, Leanne could've suggested Speed Daal for lunch, but to fair to Leanne, Toyah does tell Ronnie that Leanne has "had a hard time recently". Which was (partly) down to you, Toyah love!

The one little scene that left an impact was Aadi trying to sort out a wrong delivery. He's on his own in the shop after Evelyn then Dev, left. There's Jenny and Lauren begging for a job! Why doesn't he hire one of them? Jenny would be great as she's had customer service at the rovers and experience of ordering stock.
I'm getting fed up of Theo and Todd. I know romances need complications in a soap but it's getting absurd. I agree that Millie is probably a minx and has made up the pregnancy.
I can't see how Lisa is any different myself!
Great post again Rachel and Sharon at A Quick Read, I totally agree with all your points. How about this Corrie Show Runners, why doesn't George sell his house and buy the Rovers for Glenda to run??? He could move in upstairs too, rather than living at his ex's. It's handy to work. I'd love to see him sizing up the pub clientele like his Dad, Archie used to do :-D......... 6"2, 5"8, etc. Lots of room for comedy.......George trying to keep Glenda off the karaoke, etc. BTW who is doing hair and makeup on the deceased these days, perhaps Glenda could do a sideline, she could do makeup and David does the hair. David already does the barnets of a lot of the Seniors, so he knows what look to give them. Come on, you know it makes sense. LOLZ!
So is Brody having epilepsy some ploy to make the viewers have some sympathy for him?
Great posts everyone.
Yes, the Todd & Theo story is dragging now. If Millie is indeed pregnant, which I doubt, it doesn't say much for her and Danielle's fanatical religion. Danielle slept with Jason 5 minutes after meeting him.
Brilliant idea re George and Glenda. I think he gave her the house, but that's a technicality.
The epileptic fit failed to make me feel sorry for Brody. But it may be a clue to his paternity.
I like the funeral parlour scenes. Todd has come a long way. Good point re hair and make-up. It was only mentioned when the writers needed something for Audrey to do!
I love the idea of George and glenda running the pub! Reminds me of Eric Sykes and Hattie Jacques.
But I think Eva will buy the pub. It's nice to see lauren with a job but she didn't mention who was looking after Frankie while she was working. Maybe she did and I missed it. I like Betsy and Lauren's friendship, too.
I wonder if Brody is to be killed off? He doesn't seem to be doing much apart from hanging about.
I'm looking forward to seeing the diluted Platts move back in to their re-vamped house. Audrey will be living with them.
Is Grasmere Drive sitting empty, or did Audrey sell it to pay Bethany's medical bill? I have completely lost track. Surely a few Platts could live there.
Similarly, why are Lisa and Betsy squashed onto Carla's flat when they must have a house somewhere? Simply to save the showrunners building more sets.
Could Betsy be any more annoying?
