TODD’S SYMPATHY BACKFIRES Millie panics when Theo reveals that he’s off to see Millie’s teacher about her pregnancy. Todd tells Millie it’s obvious she’s lying and it would be best to come clean and an emotional Millie agrees. Todd tells Millie to take a pregnancy test to prove that the first one gave a false positive and he won’t tell her parents. When Theo returns home, Millie announces she’s got something to tell him. Will Millie tell Theo the truth?

ABI ENGINEERS A WAY TO GET RID OF CARL Kevin picks up Abi’s phone and sees a message from Carl stating he’d like to get to know her better. As Carl secretly mocks up another fake MOT certificate, Abi warns him to stay away from her as Kevin sees the last message he sent. When Kevin arrives for work, Abi shows him a car that Carl’s been working on, pointing out his sloppy workmanship but when Kevin watches the CCTV, he’s shocked to see Abi tampering with the car.

DEE-DEE TAKES MATTERS INTO HER OWN HAND When Dee-Dee tells James and Ed she’s glad to have the support of her church, James makes it clear that Laila’s upbringing will be non-religious. Dee-Dee retaliates by meeting up with Billy telling him she’d like him to baptise Laila, but Billy makes it clear she needs James’s permission first. What will Dee-Dee do?

ELSEWHERE At Cassie’s suggestion, Cassie, Steve, Sally and Tim meet for lunch. Sally makes barbed remarks at Cassie while Tim tries to keep the peace. When Tracy calls in, will she be able to keep the peace? As Sally and Tim gradually warm to Cassie, Steve states he can see himself falling for her. How will Cassie respond? Nina and Summer agree that they got off lightly.

Samia Longchambon interview: Maria's panic when Gary goes missing

How did Gary’s sudden departure affect Maria? Does she blame herself after what Gary said about her ruining the relationship?

I think at first Maria just thinks that Gary has fallen out with her and they’re obviously going through a bit of a rough patch. She’s really upset that he’s gone but it’s not until he’s been gone too long that she realises something is really wrong and is even more worried. Her emotions turn from being upset about the fact that they’ve fallen out to being worried about his safety.

What doubts and suspicions immediately go through Maria’s mind with Gary’s disappearance and his connection to Lou?

I don’t think Maria believes Gary and Lou are having a full blown affair, but she’s definitely suspicious over whether Gary might have feelings for Lou. He’s been siding with Lou with everything that’s been going on and seems to see the worst in Maria but the best in Lou, so she’s definitely suspicious but I don’t think at this stage she thinks they’re having an affair.

What shift in Maria’s perception transforms her initial annoyance into a growing fear of Gary’s safety?

It was definitely when Gary misses Liam’s birthday that Maria starts getting really panicked and nervous. She was obviously worried before where he was because he had been gone a long time and was ignoring her messages and phone calls and thought they would have sorted it out long before that, but as soon as he misses Liam’s birthday she absolutely has a gut feeling that something isn’t right and thinks something awful might have happened to him.

How does Maria feel when she learns Gary isn’t the coma patient? Does her mind go back down the route of infidelity?

When Maria learns that Gary isn’t the coma patient, she is with Kit and confides in him that she knows it’s awful but she actually wishes it was him just so she knew where he was. It’s bittersweet for Maria because she’s of course glad Gary isn’t in a coma, although little does she know he actually is, but at the same time she’s worried even more now because her fear is he could be in a worse condition or even dead.

After being reassured by Kit he will do everything to find where Gary is, will Maria leave it up to him or do you think she’ll take matters into her own hands?

I think she feels comfort that Kit has assured her that he’ll do everything he can to find Gary, but that absolutely wouldn’t stop Maria from doing everything she can to find him.

When she eventually finds out the truth, does Maria have any idea of who could have attacked Gary?

Maria’s mind is spiralling now but she doesn’t stop for a second to think who actually attacked him and put him in a coma, she’s aware Gary has got a lot of enemies from over the years who could have potentially wanted to take revenge on him.

Coronation Street Episode Review Friday 28 June 2025

Welcome to Friday night on t'Street.  There were some great bits in tonight's episode so let us start with this one.  Ronnie armed with an expensive bottle of Dev's dust laden "best" champagne visits Debbie at the hotel and in a wonderful couple of scenes he makes it clear that he is signed up for the long haul and that she has a support team in Abi, Kev and Carl which will look after her.  But most importantly he loves her and wants to be her partner not her carer, and eventually Debbie cracks and not only takes him back but admits that she loves him as well.  As an aside we know Debbie can be great and this gave her chance to show it plus Ronnie, about whom I have doubts was also excellent - her abilities allowed him some acting space as well.  Beautifully done everyone.  Oh and in case anyone thought it might be over Carl is still chasing Abi whom Kev praises in a little speech for her constant support.

On the less serious side of the Street Steve makes a pda in the Rovers kissing Cassie and publicly announces they are sleeping together.  Needless to say Tracy does not take kindly to such  an announcement and decides that the solution is to amend the terms of the divorce settlement which Steve wants her to sign.  So she has added that she gains control of 50% of Steve's share of StreetCars - however Steve did not respond that he wants 50% of Prestons Petals in exchange which must be the solution to keeping Tracy out of his remaining hair.  Having discovered Tracy's deviousness Steve is sitting with Cassie in the Rovers and refers to his wife as "a bitter twisted, lonely, evil sour faced cow" with an inbuilt superpower to appear out of nowhere to upset him.  Cassie and we know that standing behind Steve and in full earshot is of course Tracy who thought he was describing that skank - pointing at Cassie.  Steve assures Cassie that Tracy is not going to ruin their relationship.

Now a round of applause for the new devious bitch on the Street.  Yes Tracy is old hat and we see Millie in full militant action as she spots a slightly warm interaction between Todd (who is no longer the only gay in the village) and James who has demonstrated that you cannot keep a good entrepreneur down even when they are a full time baby carer in that he has found premises for a gym, equipped it and has had leaflets printed offering a half price first session, honestly Weatherfield must be in a parallel universe.  Mille is so impressed by the interaction between Todd and James plus the latter's entrepreneurial spirit that she coughs up for Todd's first half price personal training session with James.  Millie also knows her jealous father and is no doubt celebrating when she shares a tinny in Victoria Gardens with Betsy as they both find the Street "BORING".  However she has somehow forgotten she is pregnant so when caught by Todd consuming alcohol in she is able to use his session with James to her advantage with the hapless jealous Theo being more concerned about Todd spending time with another gay man than he is about his pregnant daughter's alcohol consumption.  Todd ends the training sessions with James as a result.

Nina is close to having a breakdown.  Lauren knows she was spiked and she tells Aadi who cannot believe that it happened at the party and he refuses to own up, suggesting it was intended as a joke.  Nina and Summer keep agreeing to say nothing - but Nina visits Seb's garden where after a chat with Abi and Roy to whom she admits taking drugs, she decides that the police must be told and luckily DC Green has nothing else to do this afternoon.  After Nina reveals her story of pushing someone away from her whilst not enjoying some form of "trip" she admits Summer was there.  When she pushed the man who lunged at her (whom she did not intend to harm) but then she heard the person's head hit the ground with the same sickening crunch she heard when Seb died - it was no doubt magnified in her heightened state.  So Summer is invited to assist the police with their enquiries in front of Billy and Aadi who is forced to explain events to Billy and Aadi allocates blame to Bernie for making them "have fun".  Billie finds Bernie and makes her aware of her "crime".  So off to the cop shop to wait.  DC Green listens to both of the girls and cannot find any evidence at the location identified, there is no-one reported missing and he has checked with the hospitals and there is no-one dead or injured so it is a waste of his time.  Summer and Nina argue.  Nina then hugs Roy for his support and her voice continues over this scene:

Someone sends Maria a text message from Gary saying he was staying with a mate and needs to get his head together.  Then in the unlikeliest ever end to the programme we get a picture of a somewhat beaten Gary lying in a hospital bed.  In the UK if an individual is admitted to an Emergency Department without identification and unable to identify themselves and particularly if it is believed that a crime has been committed (which looking at him would be a reasonable conclusion) then the police are informed and normally fingerprints will be taken which the police will check.  And I am pretty sure that Gary has been fingerprinted at some point in the past.

In other news Daisy is hiding out in Borsetshire under the non de plume of Amber Gordon, girlfriend of jailbird George Gundy, wearing inch long lashes, fake orange tan to outdo President Trump with thick layers of make up, ironed hair and driving a yellow VW beetle having run ins with future mother in law Emma Grundy.
