Coronation Street's top shockers of 2008

We've already had a month-by-month round up of events on the cobbles and now it's time for this blog's top shockers from Corrie this year. This is a personal list so do please leave a comment letting other fans know what your top moments were from the cobbles.

3. Rosie Webster's cleavage. I have to hide in fear behind a cushion every time it wobbles onto the screen.

4. Vera Duckworth dying. Old cynic that I am, I didn't expect to shed a tear, but I did.

5. Best new character of the year: Tina McIntyre. Never mind helping out in the Kabin, I reckon it's just a matter of time until she's running the Rovers Return.

Agree with Jed Stone and Vera's death. Jed was before my time but i still enjoy the return of an old character and i mourned the loss of Vera.

I was shocked at the death of Maria's baby. They have had miscarraiges but not often one so late in the pregnancy. Really tragic and well acted as well, setting off a whole lot of things in motion that are still reverberating.

Pairing up Becky and Roy in the cafe and the flat. Brilliant.

Agree on Tina, we've only just seen her for a short time here in Canada but she's a little belter!

Theresa Morton was brilliant but though they've kept her in a bit longer, she flattened right out and isnt' nearly as interesting as when she was drinking and poisoning Jerry.

I like Tina a lot, she reminds me of a good, classic, old-fashioned strong Corrie woman. Just a pity the ladsmags seem keen to turn her into a pinup though.
