Coronation Street actresses together in stage play

Wendi Peters, who played Cilla Battersby-Brown, along with Vicky Binns, who played Molly Dobbs in Coronation Street, have been cast in a new stage play in London.

The play is called Hatched ‘n’ Dispatched. It is set in 1959 and you are invited to a party. The Needham family have buried Uncle Arthur and christened Baby Clifford in a double booking at the church. As Dorothy-Mavis takes charge of preparations for the after-party, tensions erupt and toxic secrets threaten to destroy her family. But she is not a woman to let family love come between her and social respectability - whatever the cost.

The play opens on September 2nd. If you're in London, this play could just be right up your Street.

Meeting Vicky Binns

Last night in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I attended An Evening With Vicky Binns. Vicky played Molly Dobbs on Corrie and while she's now gone from the show, she's still on Canadian Corrie screens where the storyline is up to the point a few weeks after Tony Gordon blew up the factory. Happy days! ;)

Vicky did a question and answer type show with host Neville MacKay and later signed some autographs. She was really bubble and Neville had her giggling through the whole show. She is very genuine and very much a lovely woman. She had lots of great backstages stories and told us a bit about her interests and charity work. She runs in races to support leukemia and teenage cancer charities, both of which are close to our hearts here at Blog Towers.

You can read all about the evening here where there is also a link to photos.

Secrets of Molly Compton's designer wedding dress

Coronation Street might have cut the cash and stopped the Street's butty bus but they've splashed out on a designer wedding dress for Molly Compton, played by Vicky Binns. Molly's dress has been made specially by award-winning Yorkshire designer James Steward. James has also designed clothes for the likes of Victoria Beckham and Kylie Minogue.

The website for designer James Steward's right here.
There's interviews, pictures and a video of Molly and Tyrone's wedding here.

Molly and Tyrone's wedding in pictures and video

It'll not go smoothly, as soap weddings never do. But if you'd like to see some great pictures of Molly and Tyrone's wedding then have a look here.

Ian Wylie at the Manchester Evening News interviwed Vicky Binns, who played Coronation Street's Molly and the interview is online right here with extra Corrie gossip on Ian's fab blog, The Life of Wylie.
