Which Coronation Street ginger would you most like to kiss?

Today, January 12th is Kiss a Ginger Day.  It must be real, it's on twitter.

Our blogger Graeme, a red-head himself, wrote a blog post In Praise of Corrie's Red-Heads.  

So, which Coronation Street ginger would YOU must like to kiss?  For me, it would have to be the rather lovely Mikey North, who plays Gary Windass.  Mwah!

Fans vote Rita as fave redhead

 

Coronation Street Blog readers have voted the radiant Rita Tanner as their favourite redhead. 371 voted and 120 (32.33%) voted for Rita. Can I say I'm over the moon?

 

In second place came Fiz Stape with 101 votes (27.22%). Votes for Fiz shot up after her heartbreaking scenes with Roy last week, overtaking Elsie Tanner who came third with 65 votes (17.52%).

 

In fourth place came Chesney Brown with 28 votes (7.55%) while Claire Peacock came fifth with 14 votes (3.77%). Gary Windass wasn't far behind with 10 votes (2.7%) while his dad Eddie came seventh with 7 votes (1.89%).

 

Suzie Birchall came eighth with 6 votes (1.62%), Claudia Colby came ninth with 5 votes (1.35%), Craig Tinker came tenth with 4 votes (1.08%) and Jenny Bradley came eleventh with 3 votes (0.81%).

 

Irma Barlow, Liz McDonald and Hilda Ogden received 2 votes (0.54%) while one voter stated they loved them all while the other couldn't decide between Chesney and Eddie.

Corrie A-Z: R is for Redheads

From the likes of Elsie Tanner and Irma Barlow in the early years to Chesney Brown and Gary Windass today, redheads have always been present in the Coronation Street cast. And most of the characters who have red hair have been of a fiery temperament.
