Rovers Return fire recreated in Lego

Oh here's something very cool. Or hot, depending on your point of view. The Legoland Discovery Centre in Manchester at the Trafford Centre has recreated the Rovers Return fire in Lego blocks.

The MEN says that the master modelers at the Centre were "waiting with baited breath to see the outcome of the storyline" and produced the scene where Paul rescused Stella. They did put Paul in fireman gear which wasn't how it happened but that's splitting hairs.

If you're in Manchester in the next little while, check it out. The Legoland website has all the directions and other information you need.

See Lego Stormtroopers at the Rovers Return

What are these Lego Stormtroopers doing outside of the Rovers Return?  You can see this Lego version of Coronation Street at Manchester's Legoland Discovery Centre at the Trafford Centre.

They're holding a special Star Wars weekend, where Lego has been used to create 'Miniland', a smaller version of Legoland in Windsor.

Lego Street

Not so long ago the Trafford Centre in Manchester unveiled a life-sized replica of the Rovers Return made entirely from bread. Today the Daily Mirror is reporting that the new Legoland Discovery Centre, which opens opens at the Trafford Centre next week will include models of various northern icons, including Blackpool Illuminations, Wayne Rooney and Coronation Street.

Not a bad representation, though there are too few houses and a tram line seems to have appeared on the street. I'm looking forward to someone having a go at a model of Norris made out of mint humbugs.
