Coronation Street spoiler: Eric's secret revealed

There's a Coronation Street spoiler in today's Daily Star that says Gloria Price's new fella Eric won't last long on the cobbles.  

The Star says Eric is going to pop his clogs and it'll come out that he was secretly married to someone else while having a fling with Golden Glo.

Then Gloria finds out that as Eric never got divorced, all his cash will go to his wife, Dorris.    Dorris and Gloria then meet and have a bit of a ding-dong over who loved him more and who his money should go to. 

I wonder who'll play Dorris - anyone know yet?

Coronation Street welcomes Gloria Price's new fella, Eric

There's an interview on the official Coronation Street website at itv.com/corrie with veteran actor Timothy West, who will be playing Gloria's new fella, Eric.

Timothy reveals that Eric turns his attentions to Gloria's grand-daughter Eva as he realises she's unhappy and he thinks she's a lost soul like he's been in his life. He doesn't want to have a sexual relationship with her but he does think that they might have some fun.

Eric will offer to take Eva away from Weatherfield, Stella, Leanne and Gloria and whisk her away on a trip around the world. It's a genuine offer but not one, you'd imagine, that will go down well with anyone else if Eva should spill the beans.

Timothy says that is wife, actor Prunella Scales, had a small part as a bus conductor in Coronation Street back in 1961. 

The interview finishes with the question: Have you enjoyed your experience on the Street?
 which suggests he's been and gone already, so it sounds like a fleeting appearance.
