Coronation Street's cute kids

Little Simon Barlow, played by Alex Bain, is not only cute as a cute thing on national cute day, but he's a cracking little actor too.

I'm also warming a great deal to the twins Asha and Aadi Alahan and having done a little research found out that the actors who play the twins are from the same children's acting school as Benjamin Beresford, who plays Josh Peacock and Amber Chadwick, who plays Amy Barlow.

Wouldn't it be good to see more scenes with the kids interacting and having a storyline of their own without the adults involved?

Killer Dwarf on loose?

Okay, so Blackpool isn't Venice and even with a following wind George and Eve aren't Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, but when I saw little Simon breaking into a trot and hotfooting it along Blackpool prom, wearing a red jacket with the hood up, it put me in mind of horror classic Don't Look Now. I don't want to traumatise Alexander Bain at such a tender age by saying he looks like a killer dwarf from the front, but the back view is pretty spooky.

He's the cutest kid to hit Coronation Street in a long time.

Simon Barlow is played by actor Alexander Bain and Corrie fans might have seen Alexander on telly already.

Alexander appeared in a Rice Krispies advert and also turned up in the BBC Steve Coogan show Sunshine.
