Much is made - and rightly so - when an actor of repute not usually known for their work in soap turns up and does a guest stint on the Street, like this one did.But what about having a guest writer for a week or an episode? And if it happened, who would you want to pen dialogue for your favourite Corrie characters? For this Corrie fan, I'd love to have an Alan Bennett episode with a sprinkling of lines for the likes of Rita and Liz.
Or maybe there should be a guest director once in a while. Could Corrie tempt Quentin Tarantino to direct Blanche in her very own Kill Ken routine wearing a yellow catsuit, one of Uncle Albert's old eye-patches and a samurai sword off the market?
