Classic Corrie Christmas Moments Countdown - Day 10

The Advent season is upon us once again, and the ITV Coronation Street website are releasing classic clips of classic Corrie Christmases of bygone years.

Today, they're going back a year to Christmas Day 2013. Here's what the website says:

"2013's Christmas wouldn't be complete without a clip of Roy and Hayley's last Christmas in the snow."

And what a magical Christmas that was eh?

To the see the video, click here. For people outside the UK, unfortunately there isn't a video on YouTube.

Coronation Street in top three most Googled TV shows of 2013

Coronation Street has been named in the top three most Googled-for television programmes of 2013.  In the Google Zeitgeist Trends of 2013, there's all sorts of interesting information about what people have been searching for using Google this year.

In the Google 2013 chart for "TV Shows - Most Searched", Corrie comes third after Breaking Bad and EastEnders.

And here's a lovely little screen shot showing you how to search for our fab fan website too.  Mind you, if you search for Coronation Street on Google we always come up on the first or second page.

Has 2013 been a memorable year for Corrie so far?

It's beginning to feel distinctly autumnal. The nights are drawing in and the year end is in sight. As the Coronation Street actors prepare to shoot Christmas scenes before Halloween, I thought it was as good a time as ever to begin a look back at the year in Weatherfield.

Each year has its landmark moments and I set to wondering what those would be for 2013? Ever since Corrie first aired back in December 1960, there have been breathtaking moments,  big and brash as well as quiet and underplayed. From Elsie Tanner's final moonlight flit in a taxi to Hilda's tearful farewell to Stan; Mike Baldwin's sad demise in Ken's arms to Alan Bradley's adieu thanks to that infamous Blackpool tram, nobody does memorable moments like Coronation Street.

Has 2013 been a remarkable year for the Street though? What stand out moments can you think of? Sure there was the recent unmasking of Karl Munro as the Rovers fire starter and the culmination of the Kirsty Soames drama. There has also been the tearjerking revelation over our beloved Hayley's terminal illness. I'm probably going to receive a load of comments on this, however I struggle to summon up many more memorable scenes.

For me, 2013 will be remembered for the long drawn out TIna/Izzy/Gary surrogacy storyline and others of that ilk. Will Corrie fans in forty years time count that amongst the Street's best bits? Will fireman Paul's racism plot line be remembered next year let alone twenty years from now?

Am I wrong about this? What are your favourite, most memorable moments from Corrie so far this year?

Top 10 things I'd like to see in Corrie in 2013

Here they are, Flaming Nora's top 10 things I'd like to see in Coronation Street in 2013.

1. Fat Brenda working on the Streetcars switch.

2. Kirk and Beth get married, with Craig walking his mum down the aisle.

3. St Ella gets sacked, takes the taxi of shame away from the Street which then crashes into the Weatherfield Wayfarer and kills her so she can never, ever return.

4. Underworld being run by Carla, solo, successfully and happily. She goes on to make a fortune, takes on extra staff, extends the factory and has to fight off a take-over from Glam Rags, a rival knicker company from Macclesfield.

5. Liz McDonald to return and have a fling with Ken Barlow under Deirdre's nose and behind her back.

6. Eddie Windass to return and fight Owen for Anna's affections.

7. Spider Nugent to return to look after his Aunty Em.  He brings Toyah with him, of course.

8. Norris to finally, finally, come out of the flamin' closet!

9. On a more serious note, a HIV storyline to be tackled properly and sensitively by our favourite soap.

10. Ted Page to return. Remember him and how good he was?

What would you like to happen in 2013 in Coronation Street?

Coronation Street spoilers for 2013

The fab Inside Soap magazine has 2013 storylines and spoilers for all the soaps in their new edition just out today. So let's see what they say is in store for Coronation Street in the New Year.

Kirsty and Tyrone's wedding - will it go ahead or does Kirsty find out that Tyrone has been getting friendly with Fiz?  Twisted bride Kirsty will launch another of her vicious schemes and Tyrone will be a broken man.  Can Fiz and Tina save him?

As rumoured earlier this year, Tracy Barlow chucks herself at Underworld fella (and the dullest man in soap) Rob Donavon. Tracy wants to mix business with pleasure and asks Rob to get her a job at the knicker factory.

Anna is worried about little FAYe when she spots the kid spending too much time on her laptop.  FAYe starts chatting online to a bloke much older than herself - and it turns out to be FAYe's real dad, Tim.  Anna warns Faye to back off but the kid wants her dad in her life.

Elsewhere: Jenna faces an employment tribunal over kissing Sophie Webster and there's confirmation of Roy's mum Sylvia returning, yay!
